Re: Spool options for a RYOGA 1520H?
Thanks for the ideas guys. I am going to be using the braid for ~2oz plastics, so nothing super demanding on the spool. It's a mix of bomb casts to cover water and shorter targeted casts to work weedlines and bits of cover.

Spool options for a RYOGA 1520H?
I want to get a second spool for my Ryoga but don't know much about the 36mm spool universe. The two lines I want to use are 25lb Defier Armilo (.0159"/.405mm) and 50lb Power Pro braid (.0140"/.360mm). The reel is on a MB Super Red Demon and I am going to use it for small/medium swimbaits and large ...

Re: Pond Fishing Setup
Btw, I use all my gear while walking the ponds, but I'm very careful. I actually feel a lot more comfortable using my fancier stuff out bank beating versus taking it out on a boat or kayak. I do only bring one combo at a time while on foot and I feel like I can be a lot more mindful then when I hav...

Re: Stradic CI4+ or Soare CI4+?
I have a Ci4+ 1000 and have used it for most of my wading over the last 2-3 years. It’s not had an easy life but it has held up great despite a few dunkings a year.
It does hold too much line, but I use plumbers tape to fill up the spool and don’t have to deal with a backer knot.

Re: Pixy vs alphas bfs reel
My Alphas SV105 backlashed more than any other reel I own....and I wasn't trying to cast light lures. A trip to Ian cured that. Still haven't tried light lures with it, tho. I've got Pixies should I want to go below 3/16 oz. However, the one time I tried a 1/8 oz. spinnerbait (I know they weigh mor...

Re: Pixy vs alphas bfs reel
If you're keeping it around 3/16 oz and not much lower, I'd just stick with the Alphas SV you have. If your intent is to go lower, grab the Alphas Air. PX68 is a really nice reel, but spool tech is dated. SV is going to give you much greater control, and from my experience, the PX68 can get moderat...

Re: New Poison Adrena
The 611M+ is a lot of fun with a D-Shad. The tip is too stiff for a Zoom Super but the heavier D-Shad casts very well and the rod works it well. It's longer then I want for tip-down work from the bank but from a raised position it's really nice. I am really really impressed with how the rod fishes, ...

Re: New Poison Adrena
Have you used the expride version? No, I was looking at it hard but the PA was too interesting looking to pass up. I wish the 611M+ had a bit of a softer tip, but other then that I am really really loving it the more that I fish it. I changed over to 14lb Sniper from 12lb and think it's a better fit.

Re: Turn down for what!?
Imho the Zillion 1016sv and the RCS 1012sv are universally the “best” 34mm spools in they they both have worked well in every reel I have tried them in. The 1012sv is a bit more free and is my preferred for thiner lines or pitching. The Zillion SV spool is a great GP spool but they seem to sell out ...

Re: New Poison Adrena
I would love like a 72ML+ with the same taper as the M+ but with a sweet spot between 1/4-3/8.

Re: Turn down for what!?
That’s awesome, I wish I had been less of a turd when I was a kid and learned more machining from my granddad. I have played with a PG spool in a sv103 but only for a bit of yard casting. I don’t have a strong opinion of it, it didn’t feel different enough from the RCS 1012sv or Zillion SV spools to...

Re: TD-Z Owners Guild
https://i.imgur.com/nAXdgggh.jpg My baby is home at last. Carbon drag, ZPI PG spool, and fresh glue on the magnets. It cast so so well and I think the TD-Z is maybe the most comfortable non-finesse reel I have tried on the glx seats. I am thinking about getting a beater TD-Ito for my 783c, have it ...

Re: New Poison Adrena
The 611M+ continues to impress. I threw a 1oz glidebait on to see how the rod handed it and unbelievably it did pretty well! It didn’t feel overloaded at all, but to be fair I didn’t push it with hard casts. Got a little bass in the process as well. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zis7gblpmvb5sly/2019-10-...

Longwinded but it just happened and I had to tell *someone*.
Do you have the 67L BFS? I am really interested but want to know what kind of XF it is.Real Pudd legend wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 8:01 pmI have the entire casting lineup and I love them... all my destroyers are slowly leaving my arsenal.

Re: New Poison Adrena
Got out with the 611M+ a bit after work today. Whomever said it was a 2.5 Loomis was right on, it's got a bit stiffer of a tip and a bit less backbone then my 783c. It casts a 1/4oz swimjig w/ 3.75" Kietech trailer (~.66oz) amazingly well but doesn't do super well with a weightless Trickworm (~.25oz...
