I'm looking at a Loomis BCR series rod for "all around" use. I'm shorebound..so I only grab one rod and go. If I'm fishing light (after a front) I use my Crucial 7' Dropshot...otherwise I grab a rod that will pretty much cover everything...weightless Senko, T-rigged worms, Jig and pig, 3-5" hard Top...

I have a purple Alphas and a TD-Z. To me I like the Alphas a bit better than the TD-Z..palms easier and is much quieter on the cast. The TD-Z really "whirrs" when you cast..the Alphas is much quieter. I really like both reels and switch off between the two...but I'm a bit more partitial to the Alpha...

Pick up a Lews Speed Pencil at Bass Pro shops and give it a try ....for $2.88. The thing works great. Nice colors and grerat action (looks very much like the Sammy). I know it's not a LC....but for less than $3.00..try one.
