Cork Handle knobs for a Curado 100D
I want to add cork knobs to my 100D Curado. I'm pretty sure the knobs won't fit the stock Shimano handle. BTW..can the stock knobs on the Curado be removed? There appears to be split screw retainer under the knob cap..but it just spins when you try to unscrew it. Anyway..I was thinking of adding a Z...

Re: Do we live in a country of "Pigs".
I'd like to think that the locals aren't doing...but these are the only people that know where these small ponds and lakes are located. We have a huge tourist season in SW Florida, and I see absolutely no difference in the amount of crap being dumped and littered during season or off-season. Always ...

Do we live in a country of "Pigs".
I was sickened again tonight as I went to a local fishing pond to find the shore lines littered with beer bottles, Taco Bell wrapers, styrofoam cups, plastic silverware, empty bait containers, and gobs of used mono. In SW Florida there are hundreds of small ponds loaded with bass that can be fished....

Reel recommendation
Need a recommendation for a reel that I can use for frogs and heavier baits in thicker cover. I have an Alphas, TD-Z and Curado 100D on rods now, but want to add another rod and reel combo. I'm drawn to the Daiwa Smak for it's twitching bar and uniqueness, but also like the Zillion. I prefer light w...

Kistler LTX- Loomis GLX question
Anyone here fish either of these rods?
Kistler Helium II LTX 7' MH 10-17lb 1/8-3/4
or
G. Loomis MBR843 GLX 7' MH 10-17lb 1/4-3/4
Thoughts and/ or impressions?
On the outside chance that anyone actually has both of these rods..how do they compare against each other?

Re: Daiwa ARDI&a
hehe..fishingboy is the guy who gave me the info I do have on the Ardito. Only wish there was more information on some of these rods on-line. Just reading the specs on some of the rods can leave you scratching your head...some MH rods are rated at 3/8 oz an up and some H are rate at 1/4oz and up...l...

Re: Daiwa ARDI&a
Wingman, I too am interested in the Daiwa Ardito-Ti. The rod seems like it has all the "right stuff". I've heard from one forum member that he owned the non-Ti model Ardito and really liked the rod..very light and sensitive. Let me know if you find anything more out about them and I'll do the same f...

Reel Handle suggestons
I'm upgrading my TD-Z and my Alphas with cork handles and bearings. The TD-z is pretty much decided...just going to replace the handles and fish it. The Alphas is a bit different. Was going to just add bearings to the handles and then cork..but found out that I'm only able to add a total of 2 bearin...

Re: Anyone know anything about these rods?
Ya, I was a bit surprised when I got my 6'7" Steez with the little "Made in Thailand" sticker on the butt plate. It's a nice rod...but $400 for a non-Japan made rod was an eye opener for me.
Low/mid $2 Benjamin's for the Ardito sounds more like it.

Re: Anyone know anything about these rods?
I'm not surprised to find they are made in Thailand....so are the Steez. I'd never seen them before and thought they were worth asking about. At the price point they looked to be a decent buy. The 7' Ti only weighs 15 grams more than the 7'1" Steez and 18 grams less than the Steez Wylie. I'm sure th...

Re: Weight of Daiwa Steez 6'7?
I've been throwing 4" unweighted Senkos with mine with no problems. The rod has a decent tip that will fling the bait a fair distance with little effort. Using and Alphas with 12# Pline Flouroclear.

Question on Japanese limited edition/SE reels
I haven't really researched this, so I'll ask it here as I'm sure someone will know the answer. Are there new limited edition reels or specials introduced each year by Daiwa? 2003 Megabass Ito 2004 TD-Z Custom 2005 Alphas Ito 2006 TD-A.o.i 2007- ?????? If yes..then am I to assume that sometime after...

My New Baby
Just picked up the rod today. Matched perfectly with the Daiwa Alphas. Was originally leaning towards the 7'1" model..but when I saw the reel on the rod, and felt it in hand...my mind was made up. These pictures do not do the combo justice...it has to be seen in the sunlight to be appreciated. I thi...
