Re: New Evergreen rods
Yea, have caught a few teener pike on that rod and always felt like I was in control. Glad you are liking it.

Re: New Evergreen rods
I know there are a few threads that mention the cobra and maybe the Stallion DG rods from the regular Inspirae line from a few years back. I think I recall them being thought of as very purpose specific for hard baits rather than generalist as many JDM rods are when it comes to taper. If you search ...

Re: Finesse rod recomendations ML 6'7"-7' casting
I didn’t see a price range or mention of availability in the US so here are a few places to look at lineups from quality makers that have bfs type rods that fall within your specs. Re: shimano Sustain FI vs Twinpower XD
I don’t think you will notice much of a difference between the two for corrosion resistance. Neither is made to spend too much time underwater and you are going to have to be really on top of your maintenance post trip to keep them running smoothly.

Like others have said, need a bit more info. What size crankbaits? How short do you need it to pack? Budget?

Re: Calcutta Conquest BFS
Anybody with some further thoughts on the Aldebaran BFS vs. Scorpion BFS vs Calcutta Conquest BFS? I have a couple Aldebaran BFS, have used a Scorpion and haven't used a Conquest yet. Obviously the Conquest has the best build quality and will be the smoothest. The weight keeps me away for now. Both...

Re: Calcutta Conquest BFS
Also, does anybody know if there is a deeper spool available for the Conquest BFS, in case one wants to use the reel for other applications besides BFS? Thanks I'd buy one if so; but don't think they do yet. Fingers crossed. Rick You could always buy a regular or HG Conquest 100/101 and a finesse s...

I am a round reel guy but I fish more towards the heavy end of things with BC gear. Migrating back to almost all spinning for lighter techniques.

Maybe have a look at the JDM Shimano Conquest BFS? Not sure if your into round reels but if you want to spoil yourself this is the way in my opinion.

Re: The hot girl at the end of the bar... Tatsu
I ran 20lb Tatsu on a Chronarch Ci4+ for a while and it's by far the best fluoro I've ever used. I think it has between 15 and 17lb diameter, but it seems smaller. It has a completely different feel to it, and casts better than mono in the same diameter. It's amazing stuff, just wish I could afford...

Re: New Evergreen showerblows frog
Hi Cal, I was thinking that if you posted a link in the article on the main page to your discussion thread in the TT reviews forum you might get more people commenting there. Sometimes the discussion for those of us that are here frequently is as interesting as the article (sorry :D ). The video tha...

Thanks a lot for posting this. I have been looking at it and the Stingray Wild Finesse since they were released but haven't found any solid reviews. 3/8th with trailer is perfect for me.

Re: Gloomis rod above NRX????!!!!!
sorry, did you just suggest eva/foam on a 650 dollar rod? stylish? appealing? I love this place sometimes :) :) :) I like cork handles for bottom contact rods but prefer Eva for anything else. This includes rods well into the $600+ price range. To each their own. The cork seems right on the Conques...

Re: Vision 110 and 110 Jr with 2 trebles
Is it acceptable to just clip the hook down past the barb for one of the trebels? Replacing the stock ones may be best though, I have broken off a ton of those outbarb ones with pike.
