Re: Daiwa Tatula Lt

"dry" That is the word I have been looking for when discussing spinning reels- They have that feeling during fast retrieval. Never have opened them up for maintenance as they all are fairly new. Time to give it a try.

Re: new UL rod

I recently picked up the Kuying Teton UL baitcaster and really like it- Quality build and fishes great as a light action trout rod. Very surprised at the quality for such a low price. I use it over numerous other rods I have costing much more. Will be ordering the spinning version next.

Re: Anyone tried the Aldebaran MGL?

Thanks for the input- Maybe i should just get another conquest! Absolutely love the smooth, liquid feel of it just looking for the same in a low profile. Even the chronarch mgl feels like a pencil sharpener in comparison.

Re: Reel upgrades.

Oleg is the man! Super nice guy selling a great product. I have installed them in 8 reels now. Nothing like the sound of a screaming drag while the fish is doing cartwheels.

Installed the clicker sent from Russia - Works fantastic! Cannot wait for fall salmon and the sound of the screaming drag.

Re: Daiwa Tatula Lt

After several trips using this reel I would now say it is comparable to both the stradic and ballistic. I no longer notice any difference between the 3. All are fairly smooth on the retrieve but have a noticeable rubbing feeling during fast retrieval. I realize that I am super finicky and the calcut...

Re: Rod for calcutta conquest bfs?

The Kuying Teton 662 is an incredible buy at $65. I purchased one just to have a cheapo beater and am very impressed and use it more than a few of the Major Craft Corzza's that I purchased at the same time. The rod load up and flings 7 grams beautifully and for a 2 power rod is quite light. I would ...

Re: New fireline fused 8 carrier

Great line! I use 6# for trout and 20# for steel head. Zero problems- does not fray- palomar holds fantastic. After flipping between mono and braid for years I am finally happy with just one line!

Cal wrote:Fishing the Aldebaran MGL now... it's a nice reel but it is not a low profile version of the Conquest.

That distinction goes to Antares.
Perhaps I should take a look at the Antares. After using the Calcuttla Conquest BFS Hg all my other reels feel geary.........

Re: Rod for calcutta conquest bfs?

Yes, it would be a search for a used one but it's hands down the best light BC rod I ever had the pleasure to fish with. I have searched to jupiter and back with no luck finding one of these. Please let me know if you have any avenue of obtaining a used model as it does sound like a great rod. I'm ...

Re: BFS/Light gear reviews

Kuying Teton 662 came in today. After looking it over very carefully I am impressed! Eyes are perfect and overall quality appears very good for a $60 rod. Tried on a few tatulas and finally settled on a chronarch mgl for the first trip. casted very well spooled with 8# sufix throwing a 1/4 oz spoon....
