Re: Care To List Your Ultralight Arsenal??

motorpsykler: Nice looking setup there. Ditto. Has the resin been marbled around the hook keeper? I'm trying to find someone to build me an UUL (ultra-ultralight) spinning rod using a Temple Fork Outfitters 1wt flyrod blank (the last 3 pieces of the 4pc blank). Fly rod blanks work well. I've been f...

Re: Biggest Fish You've Caught on UL Tackle

No pictures but I have landed a 5 pound brown, 12 pound channel cat, carp up to 10 pounds and a few largemouths up to 5 pounds. Skinhead, those are impressive catches. That Arpino custom looks pretty sweet, can you tell us a little about that rod? The rod started out at 6', but due to a couple of mi...

You and me both.

If any of you also love UL fly fishing, 3wt max, as I do, here's another site to go to:

Re: Falls Inch Minnow

IMO, better as a collectible than an angling tool. I tried Inch Minnows for panfish and trout with little success, and the few bluegills I did catch had the entire back treble in their mouths, all three points in flexible mouth parts, and removing the treble consumed a lot of fishing time. Another ...

Love the look of those. I'd like to get hold of a few, either original or Japanese to throw on my local stream.

I hope the price, exchange rate, VAT, import duty etc. put this waaaay out of my price range. Already busted way too much coin this year, and it's only April, and I still have a custom stick being built 8-) , which I will have to exchange yet more coins for :crying: . Damn the Monkey

Re: My Otterod UL

Sweet rod 8-) =D> . I have an Orvis Helios Ion 6' #2 fly stick that I'm considering getting converted to a spinning rod. I have the same guides as you have on your rod. My aim will be to get the weight as low as poss, so straight cork / eva handle with slip rings. As a fly rod it comes in at 7/8oz /...

Re: What's in our UL Tackle Box?

Far too many to count  . Not to mention, I can't remember the names of half of them. I did count my spinners yesterday though, totalled 273 of various types, which was a bit of a shock  . If I do my flies, I'm well into 4 digits  .

Re: Using a snap swivel for ul trout lures

Fishing downstream and across is one of the best ways to fish a spinner for trout. Throw across stream to your target and allow the current to carry your lure, the current will cause the spinner to start to work. You can allow to drift into mid stream and then retrieve and start over. Braid doesn't...

My Stingray 66 arrived today and my god what a beauty it is   8-) 8-) =D> =D> Now I just have to decide which of my existing reels to combine it with, or if a new one is on the cards :?: :?: Decisions, decisions :-k :-k Vidar, that's a no brainer. Overall I'd say cork. Maybe just on tradition, but my latest LRF rod (not JDM) has abreviated EVA and looks and feels awesome.

Ain't that the truth? I've exculsively used braid for the last 13 years. This summer I'll be trying flouro for the first time.

Re: My Newest Precious

Yesterday I bought a new reel to go with the rod, a Shimano Stradic FI 2500. I work in the trade and received a sale bonus from my employer, with my staff discount I got the reel for a song. Good work. What pound test do you plan on running? Loaded up both spools today, one with my employers 5lb fl...
