Re: All things considered

The exprides are good rods. I dont own all of them but I have owned a few models. I have several of the 7'2" mh that I use for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. That's pretty much all I use them for. I have tried them for bottom contact but I didn't find them all that sensitive. I have two of the 6'10"...

Re: Shimano Monocoque Handle

I'm the opposite. I hold the spinning rod with the reel foot between my middle and ring finger. I'm not too pleased with this new design. We'll see how they feel. I may just have to keep my current exprides, which I have quite a few of. I'll probably pick up the several of the new Adrena models in b...

Re: Shimano Monocoque Handle

If it is a new model Expride, then looks like shimano went with the Conquest style reel seat. I guess that style seat is more user friendly for those who like to grip the rod above the reel foot. Personally i would like to see a cork Zodias style reel seat on the spinning rod. Looks like they had so...

Re: $$$ UL braid? Thoughts ....

I use the daiwa j- braid 6 lb on some of my ultralight spinning reels. It is pretty soft and does cast fairly good.

New Daiwa LT spinning reels

Does anybody know when the new models will hit the US market.
I know the new Legalis LT is here already but when will the others get here?
I'm interested in the new Zaion V material and how it might be more rigid.
Might pick up a couple of new Excelers when they get here.

Re: Spinning Reel Sizes

Too answer your question- it depends on the company and even the reel model.
There are no set rules on how reels are built. Each company can size them however they please.

Re: What reel is this?

Definitely a steez ct in the 8.1:1 gear ratio.
Looks like a different handle with the bigger daiwa paddle knobs.

Re: Zaion V

Pretty much same thing i heard.
Its an in between material.
Better than regular composite on the cheap reels but not as good quality as the regular zaion.

Re: Procyon LT spool compatibility?

If your friend has the USDM model procyon LT the daiwa tatula spool will not fit. The tatula spool shaft has extra bushings to support the spool. Spool that will fit. Exceler LT, Revos LT, Legalis LT Also the SLP spools from Aliexpress will fit. The silver ones on there are shallow and only around $...

Aldebaran gets my vote.
I'll have a super lightweight combo that puts a smile on your face each time you pick it up.

Anyone still fishing the spinning rods?
I still have 4 in my line up.
6'8" dropshot
2X 6'8" med
6'8 med hvy
Still one of my favorite spinning rods. I did wish they made more lengths when they were still in production. I found the 7'2" models somewhat tip heavy.

I have 7'6" Med light not a fan really.
This particular model was way too noodily for my liking
