Re: 3X Soft Plastics?

I like the finesse worms on shakey heads that I pour. They are responsible for numerous bass over 4#'s this year.

Re: Suffix Performance Braid and Super Flukes

Try closing your bail manually as well. When you are working your fluke if you are picking up a lot of slack line it may not be laying tight enough on your spool as well. I always use braid with a floro leader. I just keep an eye on the line and if I see it starting to get messed up I make a cast an...

Re: Which lucky craft and megabass crankbaits?

Lucky Craft CB350 and 200 in Chartreuse Shad for deep diving cranks. My most productive jerkbaits this year have been Rapala X-Raps in both sizes. As far as topwater Sammy 100 can't go wrong with. I like megabass but for the money I haven't seen a difference in fish size or numbers to justify the pr...

Re: Senko

I use soft bait glue to put my hook in my soft sticks regardless of what brand. It will help the plastic stay together a little longer. I have senkos left and they catch fish. Unless I'm fishing for money I will use other brands and they work just as good but I believe it is a confidence thing. Try ...

Re: Which Lucky Craft Crankbaits...

My favorte LC cranks are the CB350 and D14 (discontinued). I fish a lot of open water structure and have caught some big fish on these baits. I have caught good numbers but not size on the cb100. I don't like RC cranks only because the fish in my waters prefer rattling baits.

Re: oakley polarized or costa del mar

I have the Costa Del MArs with interchangable lenses. No complaints until the case with 2 pair of extra lenses blew out of the boat. I called and email Costa and asked them to buy the same glasses with the three lenses I didn't have. A prompt response said no. I felt like this was not a unrealistic ...

Re: How bad is the snakehead problem?

Snakeheads are established in Phila area. Franklin Park and surrounding wetlands are full of them. The PA Fish Commission doesn't say a thing about it. they put out a press release saying they are there and established and that was it. My father works on the water front as a long shoreman. One of th...

Re: Shimano Metanium Mg with Power Pro Braid

Thank GB. That is exactly the point I was trying to make. You can throw heavy braid on a reel and get away with it. I have either 4/15 or 8/30 on my scorpions also, but I wouldn't see the need to go higher. If I were using a reel for flipping/pitching with that high of braid I'd just choose a differ...

Get a Bass Pro Bionic Blade on sale for $50. Great lightweight rod for the money. I have many high end rods but still use these.

Re: Shimano Metanium Mg with Power Pro Braid

I don't know about 65# braid. I though the drag was only rated at about 5#s of maximum pressure on the older ones that I have used. If I were using a reel for flipping like that I may look in another direction. It will work fine with lighter braid though.

Re: what's the lightest line you've ever used on a BC?

I used 2/10 powerpro on my Shimano Scorpion with little problems. I have since moved up to 8/30 because of the structure I'm in not because of any problems. Depends on your set up.

Re: bass lure help

When fishing small bodies of water like this I will wade out and cast parallel to the shoreline. Fish like this will usually cruise the shoreline at evening or early morning looking for anything they can eat. You'll be surprised but if you are waste deep or a little less fish are less spooky. By wor...
