Re: Aldebaran
Weights to around 3/16oz... small poppers, plastic shad raps... typical smallmouth stuff
Tell me what the Avail spool on a 51e would do... how fragile is it, how much capacity for 15lb braid, I occasionally tangle with good sized musky?

Aldebaran
I own a Chronarch 51e... Will someone compare/contrast an Aldebaran to a Chronarch 50e for me. I'm particularly interested in how it handles very light crankbaits. The braking system in the Aldebaran is the same as the 50e? Thanks for the info!

Re: Pixy 68 brake dial tension too loose...
I guess a piece of tape covering it would solve the problem...

Pixy 68 brake dial tension too loose...
Can the tension of the magnetic brake dial on my Pixy 68 be increased? I frequently move it unintentionally while palming the reel.

At the times a suspending jerkbait is most effective I don't think the bait fish are small... oe That isn't the case for my fall suspending jerkbait bite. In the spring I use larger baits and the fall I use a mix of large and small because we have found that the smallmouth really have developed a t...

Re: small jerkbaits
I love the pointer 78, im looking for options on other jerks that are just a little smaller for when the bite is really tough or the forage is small. I wish the pointer 65 and 48 were easier to find. I ordered some of the humbug minnows to try. Loafer wbere xid you source the jerk in the pictures f...

Re: Stradic FK reverse?
Loosening the drag and palming the spool or pulling line off the spool by hand works just fine when light lining a trophy sized specimen. So you've found additional ways of gingerly playing a large fish with spinning reels, just another way to "skin the proverbial cat". There are a great many angle...

Re: Stradic FK reverse?
I know former BASS pro Jerrett Edwards back reels when he uses 4 pound test. I use the switch when I accidently reel my lure to the tip. I use a lot of 6lb (occasionally 4lb) line and back reel most average - large fish. There won't be a spinning reel in my arsenal that doesn't have a back reel swi...

level wind bearings...
Do bearings supporting the level wind add anything to the operational mechanics of a disengaging level wind reel over bushings?
