Re: Lexa 300, finally...

got two of the 6.3 models. these are tough. opened up the reel and i saw the biggest gear i,ve ever seen in a baitcaster reel . has dual stopper anti reverse, oneway bearing plus ratchet and pawl. standard magforce. would not need a lower ratio in this reel as has more torque than you could care for...

Re: Recent Purchase Thread

Re: what is the relationship between gear ratio and max drag

being a fitter / machinist i have to agree with Carlos with the lower gear ratio requiring more torque to turn the gears giving higher drag settings. which will always be the case when drag stacks are identical and the only difference being gear ratio. all companies reels do it take a look at the st...

Re: New Daiwa Luvias made in Japan. Daiwa Sol II from Austra

by the specs the sol is nearly the same as a certate apart from colour and a bearing or two. the luvias is just about the same as the caldia but the caldia comes with a spare spool as an advantage.

Re: Sol/Pixy interchangability

I have done it with a orange pixy and sol. side plates gears etc are interchangable. cannot put sol spool in pixy though but can put pixy spool in sol with some spacers to take up the gap between sides of spool and frame.

Re: Orange Pixy problem

try pulling out the spool and pull the spool inductor cup in an out a few times . I have found this to sometimes get stuck in my pixy spool.

Re: Drag Power

I can't answer for bass . But too much drag and you run the risk of pulling hooks out of the fishes mouth. Need to find a balance between power and finess for a lot of fish.
