Re: Quantum Exo reels.

I understand what you are saying but the actual argument was - past a $250 reel, the peformance gain is minimal. Thus a $500 reel in some peoples eyes is in no need of any considerations. Our response have been, build, quality, range of performance and longevity of a $500 reel vs a $250 reel. So if...

Re: New Power Pro Super Slick

We stock the line in both of our warehouses. It will arrive all over the country around the same time. Some dealers will have it before others simply because they placed their orders first. The problem isn't shipping time. It's the fact that these guys are clueless when it comes to new product and ...

Re: IS IT JUST ME.......

See, I think this reel could compete if it was $75 less, they put the carbon fiber pattern only in key areas on the sideplates, and made the rest of the reel a gloss black. Oh and swept the handle and star. OH and made it weigh less....and added more bearings.... Again, I think it could compete, not...

Re: Quantum Exo reels.

The smoke throws quarter ounce cranks and flukes pretty well. At least the 100 size that I have does. As far as swimbaits go, I wouldn't even think about throwing large ones with this guy. Definitely not apples to apples in comparison with the Z. More in line to be compared with it's closest priced ...

Re: New 2012 Shimano Reels

I think you deserve a raise, Bantam1. After seeing what was on this site on ICAST wednesday, and seeing how seemingly more complacent everyone is now, I think you have done a wonderful job explaining your companies position and strategy behind releasing their new models. OH YEA...is the Curado G ser...

Re: New Power Pro Super Slick

haha...what that means to me is: TW gets it 8/9. My local tackle shops get it sometime next year.

Just one of the disadvantages of living in the south east...it takes a while for things to get here from California. There are plenty of advantages though, so I'm not sweatin it.

That's like saying, "I had a terrible experience driving a Ford Taurus. I sold it, started driving a Ferrari, and never looked back!"

Like comparing apples to caviar.

Re: What should I get

2 grand for five setups that cover just about everything....you have a lot of possibilities my young friend. Just beware the darkside of TT or you'll be spending that much on 1 setup [-X There are several options out there that are good. If you can find some 200E and 50 E curado's on clearance go fo...

Re: IS IT JUST ME.......

I sooooo wanted to love them. It would be nice if we could get a good reel manufacturer from the u.s. to make a good product that could compete with the foreign market guys. Won't happen any time soon though. Ardent's Mg reel still weighs about ten oz. and their attempt at making an "enthusi...

Ardent guy #1: "Carbon fiber is really hot right now."
Ardent guy #2: "Let's make a whole reel look like carbon fiber!"
Ardent guy #1: "YEAAAAAAAA!"

Sorry, this isn't the way to do it. Definitely wasn't thought out really well.

Re: New Power Pro Super Slick

I'm looking forward to using some of the brown this fall inshore. Matches the water around here perfectly. When should we expect this to be on store shelves? TW says 8/9. Is that pretty accurate?

Re: Chronarch/Curado/Citica long run prediction...

You caught all that too taylor? It seems the TT guys were trying their damnest to find something positive to say about this and thats all they found. The shimano guy was just spouting rhetoric from the long list of "features" that almost every reel has nowadays, but shimano wants you to think are sp...
