Re: Worm gear vs transverse cam oscillation
For me Worm Gear Oscillation has better line lay for light Braided Lines. I have 2 spinning reels a TC and a WG system that i regularly use for my finesse fishing. I spooled both with the same 6 lbs braid using the same spooling tool settings. On the TC reel there is an uneven line lay. It looks lik...

Re: Curado I Bushing Upgrade ?
I also noticed a removable pin on the levelwind (#4878).
Is this part similar to the spool pin that engages with the pinion gear ?
If yes, does it need a pin removal tool (eg. Hedgehog, boca pliers) to remove/install it ?
Thanx

Scorpion 1001xt must do swaps
Hi Guys, I need help on a list of swaps parts for my scorpion XT. Donor parts from either cores or Aldebarans (or other shimano reel parts if compatible) The tackle shop owner said a shimano representative will arrive sometime in July and he can hand carry the parts for free. PS: No BFS spools, Hedg...

Re: Stradic ci4 4000 bearing question
Try this:
http://fservice.shimano.co.jp/part/01/index.html
Look for the JDM equivalent or the model that has the same form factor, frame design and size based on the schematics.
Good luck.

Re: Lefty Curado I availability?
Hi Bantam1, I saw some retailers are getting the lefties now but the numbers are few and most of the time already been sold out. (Same case with the righties) Any idea if when will the bulk shipment/deliveries will start to arrive to the major retailers ? Is the June timeline you mentioned still hol...

The new scorpion should be the same size but if you like to be 100% sure
try to check the new curado i spool bearings since they share the same body/tooling.
No schematics yet on it on their japan site.

Re: Round reels
It was my understanding that round reels generally meant large line capacity. I've noticed some of the JDM models have a relatively low line capacity such as 16# - 110 yards on some of the models I've seen. When I think of round reels I'm thinking something that can a good bit of heavier line for s...

Re: new curado I - add extra bearing to knobs??
Hi tywithay,
Aside for the knobs take a look at part # 4117 it might have a potential bushing to bearing grade there.
Hope other guys that already got their curado i can also chime in on its bearing equivalent.

Re: Another hook setting question
I set the hook across as well, but I use my body if that makes any sense. How are you losing the fish? Are you not getting hooked up or are they popping off after you fight them for a few seconds, jump, ect? With jigs, I hookset immediately after I feel the bite, whether it be a thump or a tick or ...

Got to fish both Golden Ponds and Pella ponds (and sometimes the fairgrounds) when I went to longmont for a business/training trip a few years back, got me a nice 5lber on a buzzbait on golden ponds. Hope the waters there recover f...
