Re: 50 or 60 lb Sunline FX2 Froggin' braid
50 pound should be good enough for what you're fishing in regularly, but if you plan on fishing other lakes in the future with a little heavier vegetation, I'd just get 60 pound. My buddy goes as high as 80 pound for flipping into the really heavy stuff.

Re: New chronarch MGL made in japan?
Do the Chronarch MGL's come with an extra set of of those plastic brake tabs? How about the Scorpion 70/71? NO No need for extras as they do not pop on or off like the old brake shoes. Thanks, just picked up both of these reels, and can't wait to get em dialed in! I think you may be surprised by th...

Re: Drop Shot Weights?
Line twists are going to be common when drop shotting, especially if you're using a traditional drop shot hook instead of the swivel hooks. I usually just double check my line every time I land a fish, and when reeling the rig back to me. Not sure how a bigger swivel will help eliminate line twistin...

Had the most success with drop shotting for finesse. Going to try that ned rig, and also try more shakey heads this season.

Re: Dropshot foulups
I usually use either a size 1 or 1/0 Gammy swivel hook. Depends on how finicky the fish are, and the size of the worm you're using. I usually tend to start off with 1/0 though when drop shotting.gailt wrote:What size of the Gamakatsu swivel drops do most of you use.

Re: Need a frogging only reel...
I was also very interested in the the Daiwa's with the SV spool more specifically SV103, Zillion SV TW, and Tatula SV. I know a little of the SV concept of having a lighter spool, but are SV spools also mainly for finesse and throwing lighter baits, or does it have the ability to throw lighter baits...

Re: Need a frogging only reel...
I'm also in the market for a frog reel. Do you need an aluminum frame for frogging, or would a composite frame reel like the Chronarch MGL in higher gear ratio would be okay for frogging? I'm looking for a lighter reel, so it'll be easier to walk the frog, so I was looking at Chronarch and the Cura...
