50 pound should be good enough for what you're fishing in regularly, but if you plan on fishing other lakes in the future with a little heavier vegetation, I'd just get 60 pound. My buddy goes as high as 80 pound for flipping into the really heavy stuff.

Line twists are going to be common when drop shotting, especially if you're using a traditional drop shot hook instead of the swivel hooks. I usually just double check my line every time I land a fish, and when reeling the rig back to me. Not sure how a bigger swivel will help eliminate line twistin...

Had the most success with drop shotting for finesse. Going to try that ned rig, and also try more shakey heads this season.

Looks like I'm going to have to pick the Tat SV up soon before they sell out again...

I usually use either a size 1 or 1/0 Gammy swivel hook. Depends on how finicky the fish are, and the size of the worm you're using. I usually tend to start off with 1/0 though when drop shotting.
