Daiwa Luna 253 knob bearing upgrade
Does anyone know if bearings can be added to the knobs on a Luna 253 and if so, what size?

Re: Steez palm ability?
I have the previous generation Steez (the one with red accents) and it is the most comfortable palming reel I've owned. I have average sized hands. I have/had the Sol, Core 50MG, and Curados but the Steez beats them all as far as palming goes.

Not sure if this is the one you're referring to. If so, I've written a review of it.

Re: Chronarch CI4+ owners, any update?
I was excited about trying out this reel but I just read that the drag star is plastic. Now I'm a lot less excited. A $270 reel shouldn't have a plastic drag star. where did you read that the drag star is plastic? its aluminum I read it at this review which I found on another thread here. It's at t...

I'm not sure how one can conduct such an experiment. Wouldn't having all the brakes turned off give you the best distance (in which case braking system is irrelevant.)?

Re: The new 2013 Shimano Cumara rods
Being tip heavy seems to be a common gripe since the 2012 line. A rod can be super light but if it doesn't balance well, the light weight doesn't matter.

Re: Savvy Rods
I just got the 734 for jigs and worm fishing. Mine is the one with a split grip and regular Kigan guides. Haven't fished it yet though.

I'm also curious about handle length. Anyone know?Hogsticker2 wrote:So we have a dual braking system, a side plate that does not remain attached, and a carbon frame. Are we sure this is a Shimano ? I wonder if the handle is 80 or 84 mm.

I'm curious as to how it palms. The left sideplate looks a bit odd in the pictures.

Hey guys, my Dobyns Savvy 734C with split grip weighs 5.2 oz. A bit heavier than I thought it would be but it balances beautifully.

Re: Shimano Curado E7
Weight savings with a carbon handle is probably a few tenths of an oz. and will cost you mucho $$. Say you lose 1 oz. with those mods. You're still looking at a 7.3 oz reel w/line. If you want a lightweight reel, it's best to start with a reel that's already light.

Re: Current Favorite T-Rig Worm & Hook ?
My current favorites are an Upton's straight tail or a Roboworm straight tail when I want something smaller. I t-rig it with a Rebarb hook and a small bullet sinker. Then I shake away!
