Re: Flouro line as leader options?
Just go by line diameter of any top end line and you'll be fine. Just like Randingo said, that #14 gamma has same diameter as #20 Shooter. I personally still use Seaguar leader material because i still have a lot left and they are much cheaper from Japan with 10x more selection.

Re: Floating soft bait for Carolina Rig?
I second the mono leader. Also a tube stuffed with an ear plug or Styrofoam will do the trick. Plus I've seen these bullet weight looking floats made to use on a C-rig. Too bad you can't find Owner Yuki-Bugs anymore. They have an air pocket in the tail that will float the whole bait if it's weightl...

The Quad Light is what you want from the two for your intended applications. I use it mainly for Jigs and weighted plastics from 1/8 to 1/4 oz. Anything weightless, i still reach for my Spinning rods because of how it handles free fall and the way you hold the rod.

Re: Dedicated lighter plastics bfs setup
I have both of the Kaleido Designo rods and the Presso AGS. The Presso is a 2 piece and doesn't have as much power or backbone as the Kaleidos for sure. Just looking at the line rating of 2-7 lb on the Presso should be enough to tell you that. The Presso is also a moderate taper, where as the Design...

But that is a ZPI Akatsuki, kinda like the Z-Pride it is going to be very pricey compared to a stock reel.Big-Bass wrote:Here was one on here a few years ago if this helps at all:

Calcutta GT tune parts
Does anyone know if the Avail parts for the Conquest 50 will fit on our domestic 50GT? Star Drag, Spool, CC and bearings if possible.

I wouldn't say it is purely for exotic, but the domestic are 90% made in China.Snyder Rods wrote:A wise man once said, "People from your own town don't respect you". They like foreign products more around here, it's more exotic I guess.

Re: BFS baitcaster shootout, a personal journey
I would still take a KTF spool over the stock BFS XG any day though. The price is surprising affordable too. I have a BFS XG Limited with a KTF spool and to be honest, I feel like I wasted my money. The BFS XG Limited is a damn fine reel out of the box. I know that you are talking about the newer B...
