Good to know! Might have to try this one.
And yeah, I could get the TX1 and PEx8 to fray just by looking at them wrong.

Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai
It’s not like the TX and PEx8 at all? Those lines frayed so easily.

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??
Anybody able to compare the power and actions of the new models to the originals? And how is the power and balance on the Braillist?

Re: Best Jig Rod for $200
I recommend the gen 1 Orochi XX Jig and worm. It's not the lightest rod, but it's still plenty sensitive and has power to spare. Lots of people don't like this rod, but it's underrated in my opinion. The Zodias I've had in the past were plenty nice and the Curado rods seem decent, though I only trie...

Re: ICAST 2018 Rumors
Each year there's less and less I'm excited about, which is good for my bank account! But there's so much of the same thing, or a new variant of something that already exists. Lots of marketing and hype, it's disappointing. Personally, I'm not liking the direction a lot of companies are going with g...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)
Between the cheap nut cover and the spider graphic on the side, no thanks. No reason they couldn't put a nicer aluminum nut lock on there, even the cheap sub-100 dollar reels have it. How many Tatula variations have come out since they debuted, what, 4 or 5 years ago?? I'm assuming the SV version wi...

Maxscent Creature Hawg
Picked up a pack in South Africa Special color, and after a few casts I noticed the color started to fade to a milky grey on the outside and the texture changed. Kinda like if you stay in the bath or pool too long. But this was only after 3-5 casts or pitches. It didn’t seem to catch more fish than ...

Re: 2018 Curado DC (Merged Topic)
Are DC reels good for flipping and pitching, or best suited to long casting and skipping?

Too much use of the tribal spider logo in my opinion.

copycat site on youtube claims a new Tatula 100 that is smaller, weighs 6.9oz, has zero adjuster, and different knobs.

Re: Ramblings about rod power and preferences
I’ve used the XX Perfect Pitch and the FMJ to throw Grand Siglett’s (1/4oz small topwater) with success. I used to prefer lighter power rods, and I still wish I had my Rattle Viper Technical Game, but now I definitely prefer rods with a lot more backbone. You can definitely use them to throw lighter...

Re: Braid on a Tatula SV TW
I'm not trying to be a dick..just trying to help , mat fishing down here I've seen it slip on the spool with no backing or tape. No worries, I just haven’t noticed any slippage or had any issues myself. At least not that I’m aware of. I also don’t punch super heavy cover with extra heavy powered ro...

Re: Braid on a Tatula SV TW
I actually use cheap braid as backing on all of my reels and don’t use any tape or mono to keep it from slipping. I use 50lb 4 strand or whatever isn’t as slickly coated. No slipping that I can tell, just make sure you wind it on tightly. you are asking for trouble doing that..a little bit of mono ...
