Re: Mono Vs Fluoro
I prefer fluoro over mono. Flouro sinks, is thinner, tougher and less visible. Mono is softer, gets frayed easier and has a shorter life span. I only use fluro leaders on my spinning setup 20 lb power pro to 12 lb sunline sniper(usually what is left over after spooling my bait casters). I have never...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
I want to start off by saying the conquest is bueatiful. The craftsmanship was perfect as far as I could tell the rod had no blemishes. I was surprised that the conquest did not come with a rod sleeve like my nrxs, being that the conquest is suppose to be the new flagship rod. Besides the rod sleeve...

Re: megabass hein vs 852C JWR
I meant to say 3/8oz total weight lol. I ended up calling the tackle trap and was convinced on the new shimano gloomis conquest rod 842c mbr. I'll see how this rod performs as a finesse stick, but it will probably take over my nrx 853JCR as my general purpose jig rod. Thanks to the guys at tackle tr...

megabass hein vs 852C JWR
hey guys, Im looking to buy a new rod for my birthday lol. Ive been looking at getting a bait casting rod for lighter weights. I will be using this rod with a core 101mg, a yumeya BFS and between 6-8 lb flouro. I plan on using this rod for 1/4 oz jigs with rage craw trailers, 3/16 oz owner ultra bal...

Re: curado 70 drag slipping
Thanks for the advice guys, I've wiped all the reel butter off and it made the situation a little better. My problem as far as I can tell is that, after I start casting around 30 mins. It seems water gets into my drag and that is what causes the slippage. I've taken the reel apart to find water insi...

Re: Curado 71 rough knob
I was using eddies fast bearings when the noise was happening. Bought shimano handle bearings and replaced them. The noise is gone and my knobs are smooth. Kind of a bummer for 10 dollars for 10 bearings was a deal, but id rather pay for quality lol

Curado 70 drag sliping?
I recently purchased a curado 70 and its been great. Recently, I took the reel apart for maintenance. Ever since I took it apart and put it back together the reels drag starts slipping/squeaking after a few casts. When I get home I usually take it apart and there is water on the drag washer. After d...

Re: Shimano curado 71 handle knob not smooth
Thanks for the help I was using eddies fast bearings for the knobs. I ordered handle bearings from shimano and the noise is gone. The knobs are smooth now, but for some reason one of my knobs spins better than the other one. Its the same on my metanium too.

Curado 71 rough knob
Hello, I recently purchased a shimano curado and for some reason one of the knobs feels fluid and frictionless while the other feels rough. I already replaced the knob and the washers inside same result. One shaft for the knobs feels smooth regardless of the knob while the other shaft the knob feels...

Shimano curado 71 handle knob not smooth
Hello, I recently purchased a curado 71 everything is perfect expect for a knob on the handle. One of the knobs spins freely and feels frictionless while the other feels like it's rubbing against something almost like sand. At first I thought maybe one of the knobs was bad so I ordered 2 new knobs a...

Re: Which is your preferred Large Mouth Bass Finesse Technique
I love to throw an owner ultra ball head 3/16 oz with a keitech easyshiner or swing impact in the spring. Late spring to late fall, I love to throw a low profile jig such as a bitsy flip/kietch casting or Ike mini flipping jig in 3/8oz with a baby rage craw trailer.

Re: 853c Loomis in GLX or NRX
I have my 853c nrx paired with a metanium mgl. I use mine exclusively for jigs 3/16 oz- 3/8oz jigs and the occasional texas rig. For me personally holding the rod is very comfortable. The sensitivity is insane, I can feel every bit of structure in the lake and rarely miss fish due to soft hits. The ...

Re: megabass destroyer Daemos
I ended up getting the nrx 843 mag bass. I ended up fishing it today a little and the fast action is perfect for what I wanted to do. I threw some keitcehs 3.8 fat with a 3/16 oz jig head and the sensitivity was incredible. Threw a jig and fished it and worked great, same with a swim jig. This rod i...
