Re: Shimano and Jackall Prepare to Launch New Poison Adrena rods and Lures at the Classic
Seperates in the middle of the blank. These come in both 1 and 2 piece. So you have to worry about it coming apart during casting and what not? The only rod I own that is 2 piece is my 11' surf fishing rod. If that's the case then I'm out on these.[/quote] Lol. I've literally never had a 2 piece ro...

Re: Shimano and Jackall Prepare to Launch New Poison Adrena rods and Lures at the Classic
What's with the 2 piece? I don't think TW makes mention of this but on Shimano Japan's website I think all of the rods being offered in USDM are 2 piece. I would imagine you don't take it apart, that it just means the handle is separate and it's not one continuous blank? Seperates in the middle of ...

Re: Shimano and Jackall Prepare to Launch New Poison Adrena rods and Lures at the Classic
I was looking at getting another MB Destroyer, but these have my eye for now. Waiting to see what models/tapers they come out with. Listed on TW, but only a few models. There's more in the lineup. Sounds like the 4 models listed are the only ones coming to the states. Alex Davis did a video on them...

I jumped on this right when they were released in Japan. The full monocoque grip brings another level of transmission and feedback. Shimano makes some of the best production blanks in the business imo. Love this stick

Re: O.S.P.'s DoLive Stick Is Anything But Basic
I use a lot of OSP soft plastics. In my experience, they they have great action and movement, but severely lack durability. Very soft. The Dolive shad straight gets hammered, but it's a double edged sword because they tear so easily. If you don't mind paying to get bit, you should check some out.

Re: Shimano Curado 150 DC – Bringing Digital Cast Control to the Masses
I'm a little confused. In the article (I'm not sure who wrote it) the author states he was casting small, weightless plastics. In the merged Curado DC thread, in response to a question I posed regarding casting ranges, Dan responded, stating this was not a good reel for quarter ounce and under. I b...

Fair enough. I should have said preview - My bad just picking on you ... EVERYONE makes that same mistake thinking everything we publish is a review 8-) I knew it was a preview. I was just typing faster than I was thinking. That's how it works when you sneak a little TT time into your work day here...

Re: TackleTour Exclusive: On the Water with the New G.Loomis Conquest Rod Series
Cal, Have you ever fished Shimano Poison Ultima, 2016 Poison Glorious rods? If yes, how are they similar in feeling to G.Loomis Conquest Rod Series? I have both a medium and medium heavy Adrena. Definitely more Jdm like power than typical Usdm. The medium makes for a perfect power finesse rod imo. ...

Would you describe the blanks as having the familiar feel and look as the JDM Shimano / Jackall rods, with tapers and powers more in line with typical Shimano USDM rods?

Re: TackleTour Exclusive: On the Water with the New G.Loomis Conquest Rod Series
When Bantam1 mentioned that the rod will be assembled in the USA, it sounded like he was trying to assure the QC aspect of the rod. I've read quite a few NRX owners who felt QC was mediocre, at best. Sloppy epoxy, thread wraps not being tightly wrapped (my NRX exhibits this), rods being slightly cu...

Re: First Look Inside the New, all ALUMINUM Daiwa Steez A TW 1016 Baitcasting Reel
It's just 4 handle bearings guys. Take it easy, you can swap those for less than tree fiddy. Plus you don't have to be a reel tech to do it. I have nothing but great things to say about the magnesium version. Finest reel I've used, absolute pleasure to fish with. The form factor is the best Daiwa ha...
