I did order one and it should be here any day. The dealer I use placed a direct order and had to meet the minimums so it was slow coming. I'm excited to get this model. I'll be happy to share my thoughts going forward.

This will be my choice when I skip jigs off the ceiling.

I have the DX 743HP (casting). Dobyns increased the power in the upper third of the blank on this series so with that said, the 742 would be the better choice in that weight rage and bait selection.

Smaller crankbaits don't generate much resistance so a mid ratio like a 6.4 works fine. You just missed out on the Lews Team Pro at 149.99 in LH at Tackle Warehouse. That would have been a very good choice.

I purposely did not disclose that I only own one rod that is less than seven feet and the vast majority are actually over seven feet. Every tip up technique rod I fish is over seven feet.
