Re: Better braid to prevent digging on bfs reel?
One of the best method to prevent line mismatch on the spool and dig in is to simply center your level wind guide before casting. The prevents the widest angle of the line if that happens to be at the end of the cast. Most of the problems comes from that after the line is overlay and then it loosens...

Re: Spinning reel compact
Wouldn't just simple mechanical leverage make a gear stronger? As also stronger material and better rigidity in alignment. A smaller frame body but using the same gear size and material would make it just as strong. The only other exception is the user input from the type of reel handle and length.

Re: Forgotten Lures?
One of my favorite "Forgotten" lure category is the subsurface twitch lures. The one's like the Rapala X-rap Sub Walk or Mirrodine Mirrorlure. Among the forgotten and no longer made are Storm Mad Flash Flutter Stick and Yo-Zuri Edge Trembler lures. These are not a first pick lure and they often do r...

Re: Opinion on SPRO products
Spro power swivels has always been my must have.
I have some old propbaits, crankbaits, and lipless cranks from their Vibe production.

Re: Forgotten Lures?
Well not exactly forgotten but just tucked away. It's those rebranded lures Rebel/Xcalibur/Mystic. They were sometimes a slightly improved paint pattern or design. Some were suspended versions created. Some were casting weighted so they do cast further with better control over their original Rebel v...

Re: Yo-Zuri - Yay or Nay??
The Yo-Zuri ARMS are some of the best useful lures I've used. For the price, Yo-Zuri probably offers the most performance and quality.

Re: Carbon monocoque is a waste
It makes a difference in the casting motion. The reduced weight also means reduced inertia and momentum. In a way it is almost like comparing a similar build of full cork handles vs split grip handles. I will also say that feeling the vibration at the butt of the rod from a reel spool whirling like ...

So the Trika spinning rod is way more sensitive than the Poison Adrena spinning rod according to the picture and test results with the sensor on the handle nut.

Re: Moving to lighter gear due to injury?
Sort of the same as I age and my right shoulder doesn't want to function. I've basically gone to casting left handed, but strangely still cross the rod over my right shoulder. That's just how my eye hand coordination functions as it's used to seeing the rod swing operate from the right side of the b...

Re: Line recommendation for topwater/jerkbait combo
Freshly spooled 131 line seems to like to float on the surface of water. Well it's 20# I am using. I like it for topwater.
Re: Shoes?
Depends on the weather. For good warm weather and not getting feet wet, I wear a simple Columbia Sports boat shoes. It's got drain holes in the bottom but I've never dunked the shoes. Still my old trusty, never fail for all sorts of weather is an almost twenty years old Keen outdoor shoe, still seem...

I'd rather be buried with all my fishing equipment...
If I did sell all my fishing equipment...gosh I'd be rich. or at least have cash in hand.
