Re: BFS and PowerPro

I just need to pick the collective BFS brain-tank again. [-o< I recently eased my hand into the dark shadow of BFS, and now, my arm just got tore off! :crying: I just ordered an Alphas Air Stream Custom. Anyway, the target is stream trout with a short jungle-combat rod.....should I just stick...

The Major Craft Benkei BF Rods have very good backbone but might be a little long for you.

Re: Fishing ole classics

Still fishing with non TWS Daiwas: Multiple Alpha's, Zillions, Steezs, and TDZ's variants. May buy an Steez TWS someday, but I will never buy a reel not made in Japan. I feel the same way, I feel Daiwa and Shimano takes great pride in the Japanese built reels. How great is the the Alphas platform s...

BFS fluoro pros: no need of fluorocarbon leader.
BFS fluoro cons: everything else.

BFS braid cons: need of fluorocarbon leader.
BFS braid pros: everything else.

:D

If braid would be no-no, I would use nylon in BFS.
I agree 100% and why I have Braid on 6 out of my 7 BFS reels.

Re: BFS Fluoro vs Braid Pros and Cons

Old post I know, but I ended up trying 5lb SunLine Sniper on my Shimano Conquest BFS and its very nice. I spooled up only 40 yards to keep the weight down and mostly use the reel for 1/8oz little cranks and BitsyBug Jigs. I tried lighter stuff under 3g and it cast ok but always wanted to pull left o...

Re: Fishing ole classics

Some of my favorite reels are 10+ years old, Daiwa TDZ 100ML, Shimano original Conquest 101DC, Shimano Conquest 51DC, Shimano Conquest 51. I love classic designs and it feels just a little better when I catch a fish on one.

Re: Alphas air stream custom

Hi!!! Just read the whole thread from start the finish. New to BFS. I’ve got a Daiwa Wise Stream 4’5” on the way and am currently tossing up between the Daiwa ASC or a Shimano Conquest bfs. I love the ASC (I’m a Daiwa fanboy) but am a bit concerned about line capacity and saltwater intrusion. It’ll...

Re: BFS Calcutta Conquest - casting

I have ct Alphas. At least there's difference in price of ct Steez spool vs. ct Alphas spool: https://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product-list/325 Dimensions should be same. Maybe Alphas spool is a little heavier. Mine one weights 9.4 grams acc. to my scale. I have had issues with my ct Alphas induct...
