Re: NRX refresh ?
Interestingly enough, I was at a Field and Stream in Pennsylvania last weekend that had 1 894c NRX blue and 1 IMX left and they were marked down to about $440 and $240 respectively. They had a bunch of other rods marked down to make room for new inventory is all I was told. Was the first time I ever...

Re: 2017 JDM Shimano Reel Speculation
Anyone know the weight of the Chronarch MGL? It looks real impressive and I'm liking that the micro module gears appear to made of brass. This looks like the next reel for me especially at around $307 USD with the exchange rate as of today.

Re: Shimano Scorpion 70 XG
I fish my curado 70hg on the 6'10" MF omen black 2 too. The first thing I did with my curado 70 was degrease and oil the spool bearings. I was surprised how fast the spool was. I run all 4 brake tabs on with the dial set to 2-4 depending on lure weight and wind. I use it for jerkbaits, topwaters - w...

Re: Hmmmmm ...
Good to hear it arrived in one piece. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts once you get a chance to fish it and what you think about its lower end lure rating.

Re: Brake tabs Scorpion70
My schematic doesn't list a part number for the brake tabs only the entire spool assembly, bnt5345. You can call Shimano directly and place an order for them since they aren't available yet to order online via their website. My curado 70hg came with no extra brake tabs, my curado 200i came with one ...

Re: Hmmmmm ...
Just reading the description is horrid. First it says "Composite 24Ton Toray graphite with Japanese T-Glass" then further down the page in the 'Product Description' it says "The Omen black is built on 30 ton Toray blanks equipped with poly Vector graphite (PVG) technology". The 13 Australian website...

Re: Digitaka
Any body having trouble with Digitaka? The site comes up as unsecure . TIA I think the OP is referring to the website's security certificate or whatever it's called, the https part. The website loads fine for me in Chrome. Sore Thumb, maybe try again today, it may have just been a temporary problem.

Re: 2016 Zillion SV TWS
That's interesting that most find it difficult to remove the worm gear. I can't imagine it's much more difficult than Shimanos where it's just an e-clip on one end and a pin on the plastic gear. HHS doesn't even have a nice how-to for their worm shaft bearing upgrade. http://www.hedgehog-studio.co.j...

Re: Curado 70/ scorpion 70
Your buddy is probably talking about the knobs, the length of the handle is 84mm on my HG, I'm almost positive the handle on the XG is the same length. The scorpion 70 has a different paint job and has 1 bearing in each knob, otherwise it's the same. You might need to do some calculations to figure ...

JDM Metanium MGL for Cyber Monday on Rakuten
With the cyber monday coupon code on Rakuten, you can get the JDM Metanium MGL for about $271 USD shipped from this seller. I would have posted in the hot deals section but I don't believe I have a sufficient post count to do so. http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/tsuritengoku/item/10007217/ It's th...

I've made a step toward the dark side. Bought a Daiwa 50th Anniversary Cronos rod for my Metanium during Tackle Warehouse's Black Friday sale.

Re: Shimano help
Ha if you had the HG 7.x:1 I'd trade you the gearset from the XG I have coming to me. I plan to use it for mainly frogging and I'm slightly worried about the lack of torque on a high speed reel. I bought the XG because I got a good deal on it and I don't own anything above 8.x:1. I figured I'd try i...
