Turns out there was a problem with my spool inductor that I fixed. My bad... Anyways I will give the line another shot next time I go out.

The line, unless damaged is fine...sometimes if the spool is "overfilled" by just 10yds, mono has a tendency to jump off the spool, especially with certain reels..is this a potential problem on the reel you're using....I've noticed my Calais reels are sentsitive to this. According to the spool I got it was made in 2012 so it isn't all that old honestly.

I'm going to buy a different brand and give mono one more shot but right now it looks like superlines are going to stay my go to line.

EDIT: Turns out my spool inductor fell off the plastic piece that the holds it in place. I fixed and will give the line another shot. To start I want to say that I almost always use braid.
