Re: dx 743 or 744?
Wiscmike, I'm talking about the 4" swing impact keitechs on 1/8oz jig heads or weighted hook. I ordered the dx 743. I wanted something for a different application than my 7'3" mh envy since I've heard the dx744 fishes similarly. Do you agree? I do a lot of senko fishing. I use a little 1/16 oz worm ...

dx 743 or 744?
I have envy 7'3" mh/xf for jigs, t-rigs etc. I really want to get a champion extreme as well. Would it be redundant to get the 744 or should I go for the 743? I'm thinking 743 for senkos, flukes and keitechs. How is the 744 for these presentations? Decisions, decisions, decisions... I really shouldn...

Re: who loves recoil guides
The more I think about it, the more I see the merits of recoils. First, there are no rings to pop out so they will last years without needing repair. I also think I'll like the sound of braid with a fish on. It sounds cool on tv. Also, don't you think this lends to more vibration transmitting to the...

who loves recoil guides
I recently got a new envy rod which is equipped with black pearl recoils except for the tip. Ice here so haven't fish it yet. After reading some stuff about grooving and loud noise, I'm having some buyers remorse. So put my mind at ease and tell me the positives.

what makes a rod good?
I just started bass fishing a couple of years ago. I'm starting to turn into a bit of a tackle junkie. My question is mostly about terminology when is comes to quality rods. Can you explain to me what taper, wraps, scrim and resin are? And how these and other things determine the quality of a rod? I...

13 fishing envy
I'm new here, so please excuse if this has been addressed. I just got a new 7'3" mh envy that I plan on using for t-rigs, senkos jigs. Its the dead of winter so I haven't fished it yet, but I'm super excited because it's my first "high end" rod. I have some questions. 1) Do you feel the envy is wort...

daiwa cielo (new version)
I'm a new member and going through withdrawal from fishing. I got some new rods for x-mas and one of them is a cielo spinning rod. I got this on clearance for $65. I got the 6'10" ml/xf for finesse stuff (ds, flickshake). I'm a power fishing guy, but have an interest in trying my hand with finesse t...
