Re: ICAST 2019

I'm ready for a Zillion based off the Steez A with brass gears. They can do a 1516 HD Zillion line from the current Zillion HD with the recessed mag dial side plate. They can even do some mill work on the flat top portion of the frame like the old TD Zillions had. I wouldn't mind two different Zilli...

Re: Opinions on $250-$350 reel

Lookin at a future purchase reel to match with a Dobyns DX746c preferably in the $250-$350 range. I’ve got Daiwa’s and Shimano DC’s and wanna see what the next tier level of reels has to offer. I will use this as a heavy cover jig rod and creature baits. I’ve looked at bantams and zillions and also...

Re: Td fuego

Thank you. I found a handle just have to get a star and other parts. I’ll start hunting one the spools. What all spools will actually fit this platform? I found a box with a black spool I believe came from a zillion Type r I bought off here a few years ago. See if it fits. If you're lucky it will b...

Re: Help identifying the spool.

Definitely not a TD Zillion stock spool. If it fits a TD Zillion then it is a TDZ 100 spool.

It does look like a 105 spool though. Those are 34mm if I am not mistaken.

Re: Daiwa HS Bait?

Daiwa owns the Globalride brand. While the reel is not a Daiwa reel the seller can list it as a Daiwa Globalride to get clicks.

Re: Fishing ole classics

All of them. The reel has been in production in some form since it was introduced. There aren't generations or different platforms. There is just the Alphas. It would be akin to saying that to apply to the Curado namesake. I'd dare say that there would be clear definable series allotment of product...

True classics never die. See: Daiwa Alphas.
Which series and year of manufacture?

Re: Td fuego

HLC spools pop up from time to time for around $100 or under TYD. I picked one up recently for my IP68 and love it. It will dump a full spool for 65# braid in an instant throwing a frog.

Re: Td fuego

The Basszone handles are nice and look like the RCS Daiwa carbon handles. You can get even cheaper handles off Aliexpress but I like the look of the Basszone handles. You can also get shallow lightweight spools for the reel if you want to throw lighter weights or use it for pitching. They have an Ai...

Re: Used SS SV or Tatula SV TW

My buddy wants to jump into baitcast for the first time. Opinions wanted. Here's one that won't be popular to some, but true enough because I saw it with my own eyes... Recently I fished with a guy on this forum who bought both Shimano and Daiwa baitcast reels. I asked him why in the world would he...

Re: Used SS SV or Tatula SV TW

Tatula SV. The SS SV needs some work but can be a great reel. In stock form the drag is super weak, the handle is too short and the spool is over braked for anything but picking apart cover and skipping.
