Re: Daiwa Exist 22

Is Daiwa best buy now? Extended warranty? Paying hundreds of dollars more for a product for a warranty on a fishing reel of all things? As far as widgets go fishing reels aren't exactly that complex It's not just a warranty it's free expedited cleaning/service etc for 5 years - makes sense if you'r...

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's

My newest reel. Always wanted one of these. Got this guy to replace a Zonda Rosso with MB BFS spool. I can sell that one and come out ahead financially and still have a reel I can fish. Been to terrified of the Zonda to fish it more than a few outings. These TD-Z Itos seem to weather a bit better to...

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

No Tatula 70 SV on Daiwa Japan's site. Looks like this one is USDM only. Instead of a Alphas we get Tatula 70 SV based on the same platform but with a long shaft spool. The drag numbers are the same as the Alphas TW so maybe the main gear is very similar if not identical. With an MSRP of $229 we sh...

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

The frame is the same size as the Alphas TW but the spool uses a long shaft and is 32mm. Tatula sv70 is a 30mm spool. At least according to this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oihgBaOvMgA&ab_channel=DaiwaUSA I was referring to the 80 but you are correct. I proposed earlier that the 70 SV looked t...

I think in tatula 70 is same dimensioned spool than in ct Alphas? What frame is? New or same as other 'old' reel?

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

10lbs of drag on these. Going to be a problem for the US market that has convinced itself that it needs monster drag pressure. Had a guy on another board going on about how the Curado 150 MGL was a GAME CHANGER because it had 2lbs more drag than a 200k. Thats how the average US angler's brain works....

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

Good looking little reel. I like the glossy black and styling on the non handle side plate. It does bother me that they show it on a Tatula Elite rod which is silver. The Alphas looks best on those. Also bothers me that the Tatula rods have gloss black paint on the reel seat but the regular Tatula ...

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

Yep a $199 msrp for the USDM Tatula 80 off Daiwa US. Might want to lock in a sub $199 JDM reel order if they raise prices on those to match. No guarantee retailers will raise the price on tbe JDM reels but they did it once before with the Alphas SV when the USDM "SV105" was launched. The USDM gets a...

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

The Tat 80 is $165 in Digitaka. Daiwa likes to charge more for US reels. $225 for a USDM $185 Alphas SV. $700 for a USDM $500 Steez CT. I would expect a $199 Tatula 80 which is actually pretty close to what we can preorder a JDM Tatula 80. The going rate on current Tatulas has a lot of disparity be...

Re: Project T 22 #6: another Tatula

It'll probably be the US Tatula 80 and 70 SV. The pricing is what I am curious about. I hope they don't pull an Alphas SV/SV105 on us and make the US spec considerably more expensive driving up the JDM prices too as a reaction. If we do get a USDM Zillion HD I hope we get a deeper spool. The Tatula...

Re: Forgive my sins

Postan more tats. Didn't really like these things at 1st but they grow on you and I am running 4 with 2 tatzillions. I'll be adding a 5th tatula this year. They just work and I have almost as many tuning parts as my high end reels so I can tinker and make the reels what I want. I just added a thinne...

Curado 150 platform as a future 200?

I saw a pic of a Curado 150 and it struck me how much of a gap there was between the top of the frame and top of the spool. We sometimes see this with Tatulas that have a 33 or 32 mm spool version of a 34 or 36 mm spool platform reel. You end up with a frame that is taller than needed just to house ...
