Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...

Do any of you guys know if there is any new or updated trolling gear coming from shimano? I had tried to buy some Taloras a few weeks ago and they weren't available from Shimano. The store had thought there might be something new coming out at icast.

Re: Stella 1000 vs 2000

Cal has it right. You can also get shallow spools for most sizes including the C3000 so you get the benefit of the larger spool diameter without having to use a bunch of line or backing.

Re: Deep cranking rod

You will want to talk to someone that has actually held the rods. The power ratings with Megabass are best to compare rods within the same series and even then don't tell the whole story. I have an older F4.5 Tomohawk GTA that works great with cranks way over its rated capacity of 3/4oz. Maybe get i...

Re: Antares and chronarch B issue

If the cutout in the handle plate is the same size I am surprised it doesn't fit. Any chance you are trying the nut from a lefty handle on a right handed reel or vice versa? I thought it was only 300 size and larger that had the daiwa 8mm post.

Re: New Sustain?

Do you think they will make it a new reel or just bring the Twinpower or Vanquish over? They should have been embarrassed to sell the Sustains last year given how great the two JDM reels are in a similar price range.

Re: New Spinning Reel

Voted vanquish but it really depends on the size you want for line capacity and the weight you need to balance your rod. There were only limited sizes available for the Exsense not sure if thats still the case.

Re: U-40 cork sealer and handles with lots of filler

I have used U40 on plenty of grips including many that came to me with more filler than I would have liked. No issues with the filler being compromised but I don't think the u40 does much to reinforce it either. It did seem to make it easier to clean up a grip that had stained a bit (saltwater fishi...

Re: Split Ring Pliers

I have several styles but finding myself only using the Texas tackle ones if possible. The design is different and very easy to use. The orange handles are good for all around and the big green ones are amazing if you fish big swimbait or heavier saltwater tackle.

Re: Is Shimano Playing us?

Is it possible that the ratings were listed for lines in lb test? US lines are generally thicker for a given rating but break at higher strength. Are the ratings different where listed for PE by tenkara number or are the us ones listed for "power pro"?

NRX Inshore 921/922s MR

Hi all, Wondering if anyone has any experience with the NRX inshore spinning models? I am hoping someone might be able to compare the 921s MR to the bass 902s which is rated similarly. I think the 922s MR might be the one I am looking for but can't find any reliable reviews at all. I am looking to f...
