Re: Why does Shimano not produce a budget 50 size reel?
I dont even know if there is away to see if there is a market. Since the cheapest small reel is the curado at $199, and some people choosing to go to a full size curado for less, you can use its sales. The Aldebaran 50 is over 400$, so its not going to sell in volume. If they stuck to the price bump...

Why does Shimano not produce a budget 50 size reel?
This is just me thinking out loud really, but figure i may get some feedback. Why does Shimano not produce a budget 50 size reel? Currently in the US line up we have the Alderbaran 50, or a Curado 70. If you go to JDM, you can get a conquest 50 as well. All of these are nice reels, but could not be ...

Re: Curado 71 or Chronarch MGL?
i have 2 curado 70's. by far my favorite reel. I had an upgraded 50e, but sold it and wanted another small reel. Bought these and use them for everything. Have one right now on my L action rod casting 1/8 oz swim baits and its works great.

Re: What piece of cheap or tackle gear do you use and love?
I also have several of H2O express rods i picked up like 70% off at academy when they were clearing them out. Have a 6'6" medium action micro guide one i love, only paid like 30$. I has a short handle which i prefer, and use it for throwing light stuff all the time. I am a sucker for the cabela's ba...

Looking for good 2" pre-rigged swimbaits
I like to use small swim baits here in the creeks and ponds. I really like to use about 1/8" (Usually 2") pre rigger baits. I do this as i normally dont keep a lot of tackle in my car, so i can just put a few of these in my pocket and go. I have tried every brand, berkley, storm, BPS brand, Cabela's...

Re: Higher end BFSish reel: Scorpion 70 BFS, Aldebaran 50, SS SV105, or ??
well, i ordered a SV105. i debated the gear ratios. REally wanted like a 6.3, but with the short handle, i went with the 7.2. Is there a 6.? gear set that will fit?

Wow, diawas are confusing. How does the sv105 compare in size to the tatula ct?
I don't have the chronarch 50e. Sold it for some stupid reason.

Re: Higher end BFSish reel: Scorpion 70 BFS, Aldebaran 50, SS SV105, or ??
So my budget is around $300. Looking on Japan tackle, they have a Shimano still 100, says it's good down to 3/16. Any reviews of this reel?

So I am guessing the SS sv 105 is a jdm alpha based reel. Is it about the same size as a curado 70?

what is based off the alpha? Not familiar with diawas. How do they compare to the shimanos for size? How do the shimanos perform?

Higher end BFSish reel: Scorpion 70 BFS, Aldebaran 50, SS SV105, or ??
I am looking to move into a higher end reel for throwing lighter baits. Currently i use a Shimano 70 spooled with 6 or 8 lbs mono ( .01" dia) to throw small baits. Basically all i do is throw small baits anymore, as i just like fishing creeks and ponds alot right now. This performs great for 1/8 oz ...

What piece of cheap or tackle gear do you use and love?
I know most of us on here love our high end gear. JDM rods and reels, $50 swim baits, ect. But, we must all have some cheap gear that we use and love, but never post about. I ask about this because i just found a $25 rod i use all the time now. https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/field-stream-infer...
