Just ordered the IMX-Pro 901SJR. Should be a couple of weeks. Thinking of 4000 reel for it. I was using a Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 7'4" M/F but it was a tad heavy for throwing 1/16oz.
Should be a sweet rod. I'd need that length to go with a 1 power.

Re: NRX 873cc

Love my 873. Fast, crisp, sensitive and powerful; its my choice for working 5/16-1/2oz jigs and creatures. It doesnt feel tip-heavy to me, but some hold their rods differently than others and I believe this is why you have different opinions on balance.

Re: First attempt...

Looks great. What brand of paint did you use? Createx primer, base and clear coat. I need to find a better automotive style lacquer top coat though. Check out the house of color premixed airbrush paints. Just amazing paints that will make your paint jobs pop. You can get them at https://tcpglobal.c...

Yeah...I noticed that yesterday. Folks are getting a monoque in their shorts for these rods.

Re: St. Croix stagnating?

They have a different target audience IMO. They aren’t about flash and bling. Rather simplicity, sort of boring or conservative styling, and quality components like Fuji seats and guides. They tend to target an older audience mainly, a tournament fishing audience or guides plus folks that can appre...

Re: GLX 855 JWR Info

Yeah, the 5 power glx is definitely a broomstick. Being a 7'1" versus a 7-4 or 7-6 should aid in casting and working jigs. You also dont need an 8ft rod to flip or punch, so it should do well in those areas as well.

Re: We really not gonna talk about the new 2020 Ultima 172H “full carbon triangle grip”?

Glad I saw this thread; I was preparing to order the 72h. I'm very happy with my glorious models, and while they weigh the same (both 120g), the 72h glorious is rated regular fast versus the ultimata's fast taper. I guess I'll have to wait for the new model :|

Sweet looking rig for sure. If it were mine, I'd spool it up with some 6lb cxx and throw little crankbaits with it.

Re: JDM Shimano vs USDM Gloomis Comparisons

The glorious line finally lured me over and I wish I would have pulled the trigger sooner. I was worried about the tapers/power being 'JDM', but man...that high power X is some serious sheet apparently. You can't believe something that light is also stout. The fast models are very fast, and the mode...

Re: JDM bottom contact rod

Hadn't owned a jdm rod since owning a few of the steez rods when they came over here years ago. Wanted a couple of ultra light weight, perfectly balanced and sexy sticks to complement my american muscle. Ordered a couple of glorious sticks and was more than impressed by how they fished. As a matter ...

Re: NRX balance

803 may be on par with the 852. well, at least to have anyone utter a negative word about an 803 would be a shock to me. possible on the internet but a shock no matter what Didn’t like the 803c. It was a broom handle. Hey, you asked  I've got the 'broom handle' spinning version. It is suprisin...

Re: NRX balance

The nrx has a roomy reel seat that allows all your fingers above the trigger while jigging. Held like that, they feel balanced and agile to me...894 on down. I do use aluminum framed reels on them.

Re: Daiwa Project T 2020

I noticed on the new 701m/mh RD it says 'blank touch seat', and on the 7011h it says 'double trigger seat'.
