Re: Jackson super trickster

I have the Jackson Super Trickster 6'4" light and use it with an Airy Red Pixy and 6lb Tatsu for a 3 inch Humdinger weightless wacky worm and Jeff Kreit Suirrel tail finess worm on his 1/8 jig. Sometimes I put my Zonda 10 on it and go to 5lb Biwako Guide fluoro and cast tiny 65 Pointers and styrofoa...

Re: Shipping fishing company poll

Make sure you pack your own Rod.

Today I received a Loomis GLX 803 in 3 pieces from FED EX. they packed the Rod.

Actually, an IDIOT at Fed Ex packed it.

Re: Shipping rod material choice poll

Received a FED EX packed Rod today. They put it in 2 box halves that slid inside the other. BUT they did not tape the point where they joined so it collapsed like an accordion.

I received a LOOMIS OLD STYLE GLX 803 in 3 pieces!!

The lesson here is to PACK THE ROD YOURSELF!!

Re: Question for the St. Croix guys

I bought a LTB a couple of years ago just like this sale. Great price and BRAND NEW ROD. I wouldn't be worried about the quality of the rod.

And besides. Your satisfaction is guaranteed so there is really no risk.

Re: Perfect Pitch

I've only been pitching a little while but the Loomis NRX893 with 15 Aldebaran and 12# Izorline XX super copolymer.

I don't pitch anything over 1/4 oz in the shallow bayous of South Louisiana.

But I'm still learning.

Also like the Dobyns DX 744 with tuned TDZ 103 with 15# Izorline.

Re: Question for the St. Croix guys

Now is a good time to buy the Legend Elite. I ordered my first one from the factory outlet today for $252 shipped. About $100 off regular price. I already have an NRX 893 and use it for weightless worms, usually wacky rigged.
Gonna try the Elite 6'6" MHF to see what they are like.

Re: Megabass EMTF question

Thanks for the good news,Perry!

Have a dx744 ( which I use for chatterbait ) and love it. Ordered the Extreme Mission and was thinking of getting the Dobyns DX 743 also.

Now I see I probably don't need the Dobyns 743.

Re: Finesse crankbait rod advice

Smalljaw, I purchased the Aetos 6'6" on your rec and agree it is a classy Rod. Now trying to decide what reel. I put the old model Chronarch 50MG on it and it seems well balanced. Haven't taken it out to try yet. It looks and feels like a $200 Rod. What reel and line are you using? I'll be chunking ...

Re: Lew's Team HM85 Speed Stick Series Cranking Rods

I, too, got mine on sale at American Legacy for about $75. I was disappointed also on the thickness of the blank. Jeez, it's the biggest diameter I've ever encountered. mine is 6'6" MM. Never actually makes it to the boat. Feels like a tree branch. I could see it as a catfish rod for leaving in a jo...

Re: Finesse crankbait rod advice

Have to agree with Spooky on Dobyns Champion 704CB (glass for me). At present I have an old Calcutta 50 super tuned by Ian that I use with small cranks. The tip on this rod really launches small cranks. My favorite is the Megabass Griffon. Also had an old Curado 100D that worked well on the 704. Als...
