Re: Looking for a rod recommendation (shakey head, weightless worms, jerkbaits)
I have a 6'10 MF Shimano Expride. Its an awesome rod. Probably the best Jerkbait rod I have used. I usually run 10-12 lb flouro on it in the spring for Jerkbaits. Once the Jerkbait bite starts to die off, I will spool up 20-30lb braid and use this rod for light trigs/shakey heads and topwater baits,...

Re: Dedicated swimjig rod.
Currently using an Expride 7'2 MH and a Falcon Cara 7'2 Mike McClelland swim jig rod. Both are great. I used the Expride for heavier baits in grass and the Falcon for more open water or more 1/4 oz finesse swim jigs

Re: Need a Pitching and Frog Rod...Help...
My vote is for the Expride. I pitch with two 7'2 Exprides. I used the 7'2 mh with braid to leader and 7'2 Heavy with flouro. That is unless im going into thicker grass ill go braid with the heavy. Awesome sticks for the price.

Re: Dobyns vs Megabass vs Shimano
I have used Gen 1 MB Orochi XX Diablo and EMTF, Expride A 72 MHF and DX 744/DC 734. Of all these rods, the Expride and Diablo spec R were my favorite. That being said, the only rod on this list i still have is the Expride. Love the way they feel, sthe sensitivity they come with, balance, and respons...

Re: Cranking Reel
shimano chronarch 200E5. have also owned the curado 200e5 and curado I PG. all have worked well!
Re: frog reel
I prefer the Curado K as well. Comes in 7 and 8 gear. Big power handle and big gears for dragging fish out of the slop.

Re: Cranking rod
Based off your list, I would go Orochi XX FSS. I have owned one and they are great rods for the money. Currently I am using a Dobyns Champion 705cb graphite. Love it. Highly recommended and comes with a Lifetime warranty.

Re: Top water rod help needed
I would recommend the 6'10 MF Shimano Expride. Its one awsome jerkbait and topwater rod. Retails just over $250 but with code from TTT or on sale at various places you can pick one up right around your budget. The Zodias line has the same rod in it too, lose some sensitivity but you dont need it for...
