Re: Shimano JDM Calcutta User Feedback
Hog, By no means am I an expert…I’m strictly an enthusiast and my feedback has absolutely no science to it, however, I'm happy to provide my thoughts. In regard to comparing the D series to an aluminum LP reel, my Metanium XT 1000 and Curado 50E both have ABEC 7 ceramic bearings and will cast lighte...

Re: Shimano JDM Calcutta User Feedback
Hog, Let me start off by saying I haven’t used a US version as extensively as my JDM version. Now having said that, I have tossed around my buddy’s US 200D earlier this year when he bought his. He had it set up with 10lb mono and I was throwing 3/8 to ½ jigheads with 3 ½” swimbaits for the local spo...

Re: Question for Carolina rig users
Once the hook is in place in the keeper, I twist/wrap the mainline with the weight on it around the eyes, this way it's secure and not loose enough to bounce around and damage the rod.

Re: Koppers changes the game
Maybe it's just me but if the intent is to mimic multiple 'baitfish', why wouldn't they use a more realistic looking baitfish instead of multiple lures mimicikng baitfish? Not sure my question is making sense but, it looks like a lure mimicking multiple lures instead of a lure mimicking multiple bai...

Re: Rethinking my Shimano Faith
I love my Calcutta 100D, ok, so it's the JDM with the quick access...but it's super smooth and very durable! Then again, so are all my Calcuttas. Sorry guys, I'm a little biased.

Re: Megabass Reel Cover
Just in case anyone's looking for a good quality cover, I have some of the SS sized Jaws reel covers from the auction site. They are really well made and felt like a glove on my Calcutta 200TE all the way down to a Calcutta 50 JDM.

Re: jdm calcutta 101D whats the verdict?
I have had the JDM 100D for a few months now and love it. Don't get me wrong, it's not a Conquest but every bit as good for my use. It can also be found for around $200 less than the Conquest, well worth it IMHO.

Another compatibility question
Bantam,
Are the parts for a JDM Conquest 100DC compatible with a US Calcutta 100DC? I'm ordering some Yumeya parts but wanted to be sure before I pulled the trigger.
Thanks again for your help...

Cool, I take pretty good care of even my cheap stuff, everything gets rinsed down with FW, then sprayed with Salt-Away, then FW again.

That's a good question, I'm interested in seeing what the experts say as I've been reluctant to throw my MB's in the SW for now.
