Re: chronarch 50E + yumeya BFS 32mm spool: anyone done it?
I also have a yumeya bfs spool. As WoodT stated, an excellent performer. Mine is in a curado 51e with boca os spool bearings mounted on a bcr802c glx. Use it for river smallies casting, skipping, and pitching lightweight tubes, jigs, grubs, and senkos in close quarters. I have 10 or 15lb (been so lo...

Re: Multi purpose heavy or xh rod?
Sweet! I'm sold on the 804c! Was thinking about mounting a zillion 100hla or maybe a curado 301 on it. Would probably like to keep ipt around 27" or 28". Reel suggestions?

Re: Multi purpose heavy or xh rod?
Thanks for the replies. A couple more questions. So between the 804c and dx745, my understanding is that the 804 is the stiffer tipped of the two. Which of the two is the more powerfull rod? What's the listed top end of the 804? I'm assuming it's 1 1/2 oz, as listed on Dobyns website, not the 1 1/4 ...

Multi purpose heavy or xh rod?
Looking for a rod to fill in the gap in my lineup above my dx744c (my heaviest rod). I'm in central VA, so not a lot of heavy cover or punching. Would like to be able to use it for lighter a-rigs, slow rolling deep spinnerbaits and ~5" soft bodied swimbaits, Carolina rigs, 1/2-1 oz jigs, and flutter...

Re: Sell me a reel for my new Loomis 893
Chronarch 101d7 is what I have on mine. Love it. Tried a core 51 on it, but liked the little extra weight of th d7 to balance out the extra length of the rod. I spend more time casting then pitching with my nrx 893. Would probably go the other way if I was pitching mostly.

Daiwa spinning reel size?
Really like the looks and reviews of the new caldia. Was looking at japanprofishing.com to figure out the right size to order. The 2508 seems to have my preferred line capacity specs, but noticed it was a little heavier than the 2506 and 2500. Anyone know why? Also, its recommended for sea bass and ...

Re: Recon PHX-C683ML
I've got mixed feelings about it. It's beautifully made, especially for the price. Balance and ergonomics are great. Really like the skinny handle/grip. Coupled with a smaller reel, the combo really disappears in your hand and screams finesse. The action is a little slower than I prefer for plastics...

Re: River smallie stick
Thanks for all the replies. Thinking I'm going with the bcr802 glx. Although the Powell sounds like a hell of a deal, I need to find out what Loomis rods are all about. Can't wait!

Re: River smallie stick
I've already got a 7' mf avid I use on the river so don't want too much overlap with the next rod I chose. I noticed the mbr782 is only rated down to 1/4 oz. will it load well with an 1/8 weighted 3" finesse tube? What about the bcr802 glx? I think that's rated 1/8 to 3/8. Would that be a good choic...

River smallie stick
Looking for a casting rod to deliver 1/8-3/16oz tubes, 1/8-1/4oz jigs, unweighted 3 and 4 in senkos, case sss, and lightly weighted split shot and shakey head finesse/trick worm setups to river and creek smallies in awkward, sometimes close quarters. Rod will be paired with a curado 51e with boca os...
