Re: New combo- carbon head Hien
As someone who loves to cook as well as fish, I'm almost more impressed with the oven range in the background!

Re: Phenix Recon PHX-C682 and PHX-C712 differences
Interesting observation about the Recon 2 C713. I have a recon 2 c683 and think its too slow in action and light in power for everything but treble hooked hard baits. I use it for pin point casting 1/4 poppers and small jerkbaits with light braid.

Re: Rod similar to NRX 901s
St Croix legend elite 7’6 mlxf would be worth looking into. I have this rod only in the avid line and love it for drop shot and Ned rigs. Also great for throwing Shad rap 5s early in the season.

Heavy or extra heavy rod for 12 exsense dc
I’m looking for a rod to pair with a exsense dc. Current heaviest power bottom contact rod is a dobyns 744 hp. Looking for something a notch up in power from that. I’ll be using it primarily for heavy football jigs, big worms, and Carolina rigs where distance casting is a priority. Secondary uses ar...

Re: Spybait rod
Don't have too much time with spybaiting, but find my 7'6" ml xf avid spinning rod does a great job casting them and keeping fish pinned as well.

Re: new MB black jungle rod- the Nephilm!
Not to hijack, but of the rods listed in the links above the one that has my interest is the double bull. Would love to try that with my exsence dc for Carolina rigs, flutter spoons, and flipping. Anyone have experience with it?

Re: Aldebaran BFS or Upgraded CH50E?
I have a yumeya spool and os spool bearings in my Curado 51e and that thing is a pitching and skipping beast! I often find myself wishing for faster line pick up, especially when fishing weightless plastics on semi-slack line. For that reason I would go with the 8:1 aldebaran bfs xg. That's my plan ...

Re: Exsence dc left preorder?
Sorry, said jpf. Meant Japan angler. Thanks for the link, but they are not accepting anymore reservation orders through their website. Have an email out to them, but have not heard back. Any other places I should try.

Exsence dc left preorder?
Saw JPF is not accepting preorders of the lefty exsence dc anymore. Any sites that are? Checking rakuten pretty frequently, one store link popped up, but was taken down quickly. Thinking of pairing the reel with a dobyns 804c for bombing out Carolina rigs, football jigs, and flutter spoons. Think it...

Re: Casting Rod for Silver Buddy and similiar blade baits.
The combo I find myself using most for blades is a dx742c paired with a chronarch 101d7 spooled with 12lb sniper. I use a damiki vault most of the time, as it requires less rod tip movement than a buddy to get good vibration. I've also fished vaults with a 705cb when I'm casting far and searching wa...

MTBF, did you ever get this rod? I'm interested in it, too. I'm looking for a spinning rod for skipping finesse soft plastics under overhanging shoreline cover and docks. Think this might be just the ticket...

Last summer I had an entire plano box of pointers 100s deform on me. 78s were fine. All my other hardbaits too. Just pointer 100s. Ouch!

Re: Dobyn's DX 742c, need some help guys.
I have a 101d7 mounted on my 742c fh. Balance is perfect. As others have said, a very versatile rod, but not glx sensitive. I've used mine for both hard and soft jerkbaits, blades, tubes, finese jigs, shakey heads, senkos, grubs, and smaller spinnerbaits. Two gripes about fit and finish though... Mi...
