Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

I did some testing with my new 71HG MGL this past weekend. On Saturday I did some yard casting comparing the new Curado MGL and the original Curado 71. Both reels had the same 30 pound braid, the same 3/8oz jig, and the same rod. During long distance casting the MGL casted between 5 to 12 feet furth...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

My Curado 71HG MGL K arrived from TW yesterday. The reel is the same color as the 200 K series. Not crazy about the black nose piece but it still looks good. The reel is smooth. The line capacity remains the same. I love the 90mm handle. The knobs and end caps are a new design. The knobs are similar ...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

I have a 71HG on the way from TW. When I looked on their website on Sunday morning there were 6 lefties available so I ordered one. A few hours later they were all sold out. Dang, they all must have gone quick if they're already shipping. I just figured there was some sort of delay with the release...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

Anybody know the handle length? It looks like a 90mm to me. [-o< Looks like the same handle length as it was before. If you compare the handle on the Curado 70 MGL to the 84mm handle on the Bantam you can see the new Curado has a 90mm handle. Look at the spacing between the cutout and the knob. Als...

Re: Shimano reel names

I just heard from a somewhat sketchy reliable source that Shimano Japan is going to debut the Chronford MGL and the Scorpford MGL 70 at the 2021 Yokohama fishing show.

Re: 2020 Virtual ICAST and new products

The reel is new tooling so I am not sure if parts will interchange. The star and knob are green like the current Curado 200K model reels. Unless you're root beer is green, then yes it would be root beer colored to you. I said 70 not 200. Technically the 200K has a gun metal looking star drag. The 1...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

I am sure there will be a new Scorpion 70 MGL coming. Hopefully it will be red like the Scorpion MGL 200.

Will the drag star and cast control cap on the Curado 70 MGL be interchangable with the previous Curado 70 or any other reel? I like the idea of an all black reel
I am sure it will but the drag star and cast control cap on the 70 is actually a root beer color.

It appears the reel is actually dark green, instead of charcoal like it appeared in the 45 degree angle picture.

To me it looks like the same color as the Curado K 200

Its the old 70 from 2015 with different colors, deep MGL spool and MM gears.
Shimano did the same thing with the Chronarch CI4+.
