Nice. Thanks.

Re: 2016 New Steez?

I just held the new Steez TWS SV at the BM expo in Tulsa. It is very compact held next to the recently released Steez 103 SV and it felt more compact. Length wise just a tad shorter. Very Very nice. Daiwa rep said should be a May release. Forgot to ask about price though. But I think every Steez af...

Re: Scorpion HG pics **

All in Japanese I put a light film on all of my shimanos old and new Really helps with casting - and a drop on each end of the spool shaft I had to get used to the Casitas brakes too. This new SVS system was designed to where the angler would use the external dial for most of the adjustments. Does ...

Re: Scorpion HG pics **

Ok - update First - the new brake system takes a little getting used to For ex I normally always run one or two brakes out on my aldebarans and chronarchs and a side adjustment of 2 The scorpion was castable with two brakes and set on 5/6 but worked better with three brakes and a side setting of 3 ...

Re: New Curado 70

Maybe it's just me but I absolutely hate the new SVS system that Shimano is using. I miss the six pin system like crazy. I just got a few of the 200i bait casters and I can't cast weightless stuff worth a crap. It's either too much brake or not enough. And the dial on the side makes zero difference...

Re: 2016 New Steez?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCgXWYCS5cA On this video next to TWS sign I can see the Magseal. I hope I am wrong and the new Steez does not have Magseal?! -Sign seems to be just on that one particular reel. Possibly a misplacement of this particular small sign. -Do not see where the NEW Steez TW...

Re: New Curado 70

There is a small pic of the Curado 70 in the latest Bass Times. It says it has a newly enhanced braking system. I assume it has the same brakes as the Casitas and Metanium MGL. The reel looks to be narrower then the 200i. The brake knob is higher on the palm side plate.

Maybe Daiwa will eventually offer the Steez TW with a 8.0 or higher gear ratio and it will have a longer handle.

Re: Daiwa SV103

It looks like there's a seam in the middle of that ring to me. As I have already requested from anyone who actually has the reel, please scrutinize that area closely to see if it is a solid lip that's part of the frame or if there is indeed a spacer that has been machined and pressed in. Spacers ar...

Re: Daiwa SV103

@ goblue-if there IS a spacer, then yes, that would be true. We need some close, clear pics of the spool recess on the gear side to confirm or deny the spacer's existence. Count me out if there's no spacer. But I highly doubt Daiwa would re-tool a proven, existing frame (such as this OG Zillion fra...

Re: Daiwa SV103

I want the spool :D Same spool as the Steez SV and SS SV. It should be available from Daiwa USA in a few months. So it will not fit the OG Zillion. I was under the impression that the SV 103 had the body of the OG Zillion with a 103 SV spool. That's correct. There's a spacer at the edge of the spoo...

By the looks of it, it is a lot shorter in overall length as well as narrower. http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s657/389Maverick/Screen%20Shot%202016-01-19%20at%206.46.51%20PM_zpsspjsoi5c.png http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s657/389Maverick/Screen%20Shot%202016-01-19%20at%206.46.43%20PM_zpsa...

Re: 2016 New Steez?

I will apologize for speaking ill of the great TWS reels. They are the greatest and everyone should sell their old versions of the Steez and Zillion off because they are obviously inferior and buy these awesome masterpieces. So once again sorry my observations of the TWS reels were evidently flawed...
