Re: The banana in the tali pipe
I have had two vehicles where the honeycomb material in the catalytic converter had dislodged and nearly blocked the exhaust. it was a very noticeable drop in performance . And those things aren't cheap. Depending on the quality that you replace with, couple hundred or even go to a wreckers and cut...

Re: Exsence dc 17 dc sound gone
I dare say visually observe the DC unit out of the reel, look for any contamination, wipe clean the coils both inside and out with a white piece of cotton cloth / cotton tip or similar. If that optic sensor exists (you'll have a cut out in the spool above the magnet cylinder) wipe inside of it too c...

Re: Looking to try a cicada bait. Opinions?
How do those bass taste? Quota of 2 per person, per day. But for the sake of conservation I tell everyone that they taste like old leather sandles and the creeks they're in are full of glyphosate from upstream. I personally have never eaten one - they're too handsome and an Australian icon to kill,...

Re: Looking to try a cicada bait. Opinions?
Yep, if you could replicate that buzzing (with a stationary lure) you'd be on the money. Our Aussie Bass love anything that crawls across the top, or even just twitches. You can see the fish race out and stop under the lure - prequalifying it before the aggressive "boof" strike. If you've seen any w...

The only problem to make it clear the spool adjustment knob.

Re: Stradic CI4+ on clearnce...new model coming?
This was back years ago when I got my Ultegra, just swapped out spools with my Stradic FJ and did more measuring and was identical.
It's the independent 2000 (without the C denomination) size reels like the Stella's et al, that have that independent sizing from memory.

Re: Whatever happened to abalone?
Abalone / mother of pearl is commercially available in many markets... Should've seen it in NZ... Absolutely everywhere... We stopped at the mega-thrust seaside earthquake site and Pāua shells were everywhere - all sun bleached like this one I brought home to Aus. But in their wet natural near new f...

Re: Exsence dc 17 dc sound gone
So there's no contact points to program them as a completed unit, or they programed and then assembled and then tested?
Because there are a lot of contacts that could be used to do so.
Does the newer high end DC modules still use the optical sensor for the spool?

Re: Stradic CI4+ on clearnce...new model coming?
absolutely itching for that VFC2000HGF model for my ultralight trout setup. As far as I can understand it has a 1000 size body but 2000 size spool/rotor improving line management while keeping weight down. I guess the release was postphoned, preliminary info was all about august release. When I mea...

Re: Looking to try a cicada bait. Opinions?
Your rather brave. Those things are frightening. Makes me jump out of my skin From memory that one flew into my face at night - they can't hurt you in any way they just suck resin from trees. They're excellent fresh bait for the rivers, just a worm hook through the shoulders and a gentle placement ...

Re: Looking to try a cicada bait. Opinions?
...for ease and knowing that your bait won't fly off on you... 🤦♂️😂😂😂 The real fun was trying to ballance up a mangrove tree, hold your rod and tackle and then extract a noisy blighter out of a 2 litre Coke bottle with the neck cut off and inverted into the bottle body (as to be used to trap them ...

Re: Looking to try a cicada bait. Opinions?
Cicada type lures get an absolute flogging here in Aus. Basically a mainstay food / lure of any Bass / Bream fishers tackle box. IMG_20200823_171123.jpg A friend and I as kids caught cicadas in the mangroves and floated them unweighted in the mangroves at high tide while sitting in the trees, and ca...

Re: Truck Wars!!! Reel BattLes
I'm finding either as time passes, or as I age I am finding it harder and harder to enjoy life and drive to places that I would've once enjoyed accessing. Due to people their mentalities and these on road fads... For example - P Platers here in Australia (Provisional young drivers) - we went camping...

Re: Truck Wars!!! Reel BattLes
As GM decided to screw our only remaining car manufacturer here in Australia 'Holden', now we're seen an influx of these bloody things. And its always a 5'4" guy driving it with a booster seat to see over the dash. Fair enough if you have a need for one like a business or pulling a trailer / 5th whe...
