Re: Curado 70XG first... And second impressions
I've now got 2 weekends on my Scorpion 70HG. I've used mine primarily for senkos and 3/8 chatterbaits on a 72MH Zodias. The braking has taken me a bit to get used to, because I was used to having only 2 brakes on with the older VBS and other SVS Infinity reels (B, D, E, I series, CI4+, & '09 & '13 M...

Re: How good is the Curado 200B5?
I wouldn't call it poop. It's built to last, that's why you see so many of the old greenies around today. How many other series of reels get the kind of love today that the old B series gets. It won't be as free spoiling as today's reels, but the B5 makes a fantastic cranking reel. Brass gears and l...

Re: Curado 70XG first... And second impressions
They designed it with the intention of using the outside dial for most of the adjustments, but yeah, 4 on with the dial to 1 means about 2 on with the previous system. When I started fishing on Saturday, I had 2 brakes "ON" initially, and was getting some backlash with the outside dial up all the w...

Re: Curado 70XG first... And second impressions
Thanks Booty! It took me a minute to understand, but this makes complete sense to me now. I like that it takes more braking to get the spool under control, as it means there's more adjustability on the low-end of the braking range.

Re: Curado 70XG first... And second impressions
I got the Scorpion 70 HG last week and landed 6-7 lmb's on it this past saturday. I definitely prefer the 70 size over the 200's. The 70 seems to take a bit more braking (than 200) to keep the spool under control, though that's not a bad thing in my opinion. It just means its spins a bit more freely...

Re: Zodias Rod Handle Modification
Nice rod mod. The smallish diameter is the only "gripe" I've had with the Zodias lineup. Thanks!

MB XX EMTF / Curado E7 / 14# Super FC Sniper
MB XX FSS / Curado E6 / 14# Super FC Sniper
This cover 80% of what I do, but I'd be a little sad about the 20% I'd need to give up.

Re: daiwa sv users, better skipping or long casting reels?
I agree the SV's do handle skipping well, but I also haven't handled a reel that can bomb a senko with less effort or less flare-ups.bemo wrote:The SV seems to really shine for skipping, pitching and shorter casts. There are better reels for long distance.

These guys are right. I own or have owned all 3 of these and the will cover essentially all bass fishing techniques done with baitcasting gear. From the shore, I honestly don't use spinning gear.Teal101 wrote:Yup, hard to beat!masterbass wrote:I'd go with megabass xx:

Where'd you find the CI4+ Yumeya spool. Been waiting for that one myself.Bootytrain wrote:Instead of taking off the expensive Sunline Flouro from the stock spool, I just bought the Yumeya shallow spool Its about as shallow as the Met spool but at 15.3 grams is alot heavier though.

Re: Megabass Levante
No, the 7'2mh "regular " action tatula in the original line up, not the glass version. I'm not discouraging anyone not to buy the rod, but if you've been using that particular tatula, don't expect much from the megabass except better looking rod. Jus from vibration alone, if I'd bought it for worm/...

Re: Edge Rod
I've seen them for sale in a couple of shops around DFW. They seen to be exceptionally made with the NFC blanks and carbon fiber grips, very nice. I've been told that they are somehow associated with TFO, which happens to be a local company.
