Hi Guys, Need insights on BFS I like to try out the Bait finesse system and i was planning to modify my CQ51 (bearings, BFS Spool) but a few weeks ago the local shop here has the lefty Aldebaran XG on their shelf. Re: How to get your feet wet in the "Dark Side"?

JDM Gear are like Gremlins....

Once you get one wet they will multiply.
And dont feed them any tune-up parts after midnight or else....
They will turn into fishing monsters.

Re: Something To Carry My Reels In?

Thanks for the suggestions. I forgot about having a few extra camera cases. I think that may be the best solution, as they have adjustable dividers in the main compartment that seem to work well. I was going to suggest that  I asked a local tailor shop to DIY me a few extra dividers with velcr...

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight

That's interesting. Does it rotate like a normal cast control knob? Yup it does. It can be a little tricky thou. While I was playing around with the reel at the shop I accidentaly openned up the side plate. Good thing I have a good grip on the reel or else im in trouble. I tried also to move ...

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight

A funny thing happened after work today. I dropped by the local shop here and saw a Bob BFS LH model. The shop owner told me it just arrived today  I got a chance to play with it and indeed the mysterious part #86 is a cast control but if you have big fingers it might be a little hard to adju...

Hedgehog studio's Daiwa dress up Hex screws on shimano ?

as titled: Can they be used on both manufacturers? Do they share the same screw designs? I dont have any daiwa reels and im afraid I might damage the threads if I force it. Want to check if anyone has an idea. I like to pimp some Low profile shimano's and my Conquest 51/101 I will be getting some of...

Re: Loomis MBR 783GLX ...best uses?

Will be getting mine soon also (MBR783-2C 2pc model). Got a chance to use my buddy's similar rod and a liked it. He also has the MBR784 i think for his heavy cover rod for snakeheads. I bank fish a lot and having just one or two rods is a must for more efficient fishing especially around wooden area...

Re: Conquest 100/101 7.1:1 gear ratio

Hey Jayce they are washers, but that gets me thinking. I am going to find some o-rings, that would be killer! Thanks for the suggestion. Thanx dude. Go to a Darts shop its better to go to a specialty store that sells professional gear. We used small O-rings for Aluminum shafts that usually gets loo...

Re: Spool Bearing cleaning question

Find a small vial or test tube that is deep enough to accomodate the spool shaft and wide enough to cover the spool bearing and wide enough to fit the space between the bearing and inner spool wall. I use this method on my CQ 51. (I use a test tube from my medical student friend with a flat bottom a...

Re: Tools for reel maintenance?

Get a cheapo Lure/Utility boxes or a beat up plano box with removable slide/wall divisions. Measure each reel part like spools, handle assembly side plates etc that can fit in the avaialble divisions in the box. Use a cutter to cut some of the fixed wall divisions if needed. Label each division with...
