Re: 2024 SLX with MGL 3 spool.
I'm interested to see what the durability is like--everyone always comments that after a year of use the SLX are not nearly as smooth as the Curado counterpart. If the longevity and durability is there...this might be a low key killer. At one time, I owned a regular STX, a STX XT, a STX MGL, and a ...

Re: Third generation Tatula is coming next month
I had the chance to check out the new Tatula. I mounted it on a Tatula rod. As I expected, I can feel the mag dial when I grip the rod and reel. It is just as bad, if not worse than the other models. I did not like the contoured thumb rest either. I could feel the two "fangs" on the end of my thumb....

Re: Third generation Tatula is coming next month
It looks like it only protrudes on the top like the classic daiwa reels. In that case it occupies the vacant spot between your index finger and thumb when palming while offering ease of access to your thumb for adjustment. They got it right from the get go IMO. They later made the whole perimeter o...

Re: Third generation Tatula is coming next month
I will have to handle one in person to confirm, but this new Tatula looks to be the most uncomfortable one to date. Protruding mag dial and crazy contours for the thumb rest. It seams like more reels these days are forcing the user to put their thumb in a certain spot. I like a nice flat area to pu...

Re: St Croix Seviin reels
I would try one but the palm side plate does not look comfortable to me. I like smooth palm plates like the ones on Shimano's.

Re: Curado M
The reason why I don't own a Curado 201K is because of the thumb bar. When I pushed down on the thumb bar the sharp edge on the palm side of the frame would scrape the side of my thumb. The SLX reels do the same thing. Hopefully the M does not do this. The only reels I use now are the Curado 201i an...

Re: Any 4th sales? Need a Daiwa reel
It looks like Tackle Warehouse has a select items only sale. The recent Memorial day sale was a site wide sale. I ordered a Shimano reel online and the I got the 15% off discount. The sale price showed up on the final invoice. I assume Daiwa would have been the same.

Must be a new one coming. Tackle Warehouse has them on closeout. Noticed the Tatula 100 on closeout also. No deals on the Curado K

Re: Curado 70 gear swap
I did a gear swap this summer. My 71MGL became buzzy after about three trips, so I ordered and installed the regular 71 gears. Fished the reel a few times and it is still very smooth. Not a fan of micro gears.

The bulge in the palm side plate looks like it would be uncomfortable to me.
