What do YOU use your Shimano Conquest DC for ?

I only use mine a very limited amount of time because I only use it to fish crankbaits for bass. I think it does VERY well for this type of fishing. I was wondering what different things people used them for. Does anyone here use thiers to fish for another kind of fish besides bass? I know these ree...

Re: Fuego or Alphas??

I too own a Fuego and love it. I've also got a Scorpion MG 1001 and if I had to chose between the two reels I don't know which one I would pick. I'm reaaly not a "one brand" kind of guy so I just buy reels that I like and think will be a good investment. I use them for two totaly different things. I...

Re: Powerpro vs. Stren SuperBraid

I'm not really a big fan of braided line but I do think out of all the different braids I've tried (Power Pro, Super braid, Spyderwire, FireLine, and P-Line braid) Stren has the best. I think that everything the sales person told is correct.

Re: Bent Loomis rods normal?

I have 5 Loomis rods and they are all fine. Loomis is my personal favorite rod brand. I have 3 IMX, 1 GL2, and 1 GL3. They are all perfect. In fact, I've never seen a bad Loomis rod before.

Re: Fuego or Alpha or another?

I think the TDZ is the better reel but I just think that the Fuego is pretty close. It has a newer brake system, the Magforce Z, and it preforms almost as well. The TDZ is lighter and a bit nicer. I think you can cast lighter baits on the TDZ. You should get one when you have the money but I was jus...

Re: Fuego or Alpha or another?

I'm glad you like your new Fuego. I just got one myself about a month ago. I really like mine too. I own a TDZ and a Pixy and I like my Fuego just as much as the other two. It performs darn close to the TDZ in my opinion. I had REAL good luck with my Fuego on my first fishing trip with it also. I ca...

Re: Pixy or Sol for casting 3/0 splitshot & weightless p

I can cast a 7" Zoom Trick worm weightless with NO problem at all. I haven't tried the split shot rig on my Pixy yet but I have a Scorpion MG that casts it perfectly so I don't think you would have any problem with that rig on a Pixy. The only thing I'm not sure of is how good it may cast a weightle...

Re: Pixy question

Thanks for the replies. I got to fish with it today and I caught a 2 1/2 spot with it. I was fishing a small crankbait. I also have a Shimano Scorpion MG that I use for my light line (10 #) applications. It is matched to a G.Loomis IMX 6'6" Medium rod and it works out great. This is the rod and reel...

Pixy question

I just bought a Pixy (04 Yellow) and I was wondering what the maximum drag pressure was? I think I remember reading somewhere that it was around 3 pounds?? I really like the reel but I haven't had a chance to fish with it yet. I got the Pixy and a new Fuego which will be my new reels for this year. ...
