Re: Rods with the 'it' Factor

Re: Making Online Videos
there are vast ways to make videos now surprisingly smart phones do pretty good and some of them will shoot 4k video. Ideally you would want a camera that would shoot 1080 p - 4k and that will give you great looking footage. and if you do any talking a good microphone to go with the camera will be n...

Re: Good jerkbait that’s better than a 110 or pointer?
i use a lot of mb 110 variants in winter through early spring with great success. I also catch a lot with the rerange as well both are great jerkbaits. Honestly there is one lake i fish that they really love the the rapala husky jerk in crome... sometimes it really is a match the hatch on your body ...

Re: Swimbait rod
majority of my swimbaits are thrown on 8' hvy action swimbait rods. they will handle a wide array of baits on lighter ends and heavier end spectrum. I have fished a lot of brands and the one thing that stands out if weight ratings. if you want to throw 3 oz baits and see a rod rated 1-3 oz see if th...

Re: Expride A vs Orochi XX (2018)
i may be wrong but i think the hook up tackle has a 6'10 medium in stock or was three days ago. it is an excellent jerkbait rod as well.

Re: Crankbait reel
I know it’s on tge heavy side but I’ve got a few legend glass rods with bantams I use for cranks and they work great super sturdy . Curado k is a good one as well I almost use all 6 ratios for cranking except if grass is really thick I’ll go to a 7 ratio and faster taper rod. Tge rod you have is one...

Re: Jig/T-rig Rod
i have a lot of time in on the perfect pitch and the h3 7'3 hvy . both are stellar rods and are somewhat comparable when it comes down to baits they can throw , both being very versatile. Frogs, jigs, creatures, and skinny dippers are the main things in throw on mine. for me im going to go with the ...

Re: 'Downgrading' from the NRX?
I love some of the nrx models a lot but have always tried other offerings as well. As stated you could use the shorter models in the line up which balance better due to length. I have also bought some of the new z bones and i wouldnt really consider this a downgrade to the nrx, but they fish a littl...

Re: Is Zillion SV worth cost over Tatula SV?
i bought a 7:3 ratio to try out and its fairly smooth and when i first got the reel the first few cast came off noisy. After a while though its fine and not as noisy when i first purchased the reel. id say you got a lemon out of the batch

Re: St Croix Legend Glass
honestly ive not thrown larger cranks on it due to having a few of the 7'4 med hvy models but im sure it would handle it fine. it has the backbone just a lively tip which i like a lot. lets you really bomb some cranks they cast great on that 7'2 model.

Re: 19 Calcutta Conquest DC
agree with hobie not going to be a super versatile reel but when it comes to deep cranking it will more than likely be the deal. I would like it for slow rolling large spinnerbaits and such as well.

Re: St Croix Legend Glass
the 7'2 medium is a fun rod to fish i used it a lot this winter and early spring throwing flat sided balsa baits and little john medium divers which i handles very well. its a great small to medium crankbait rod. if you are going to do any spinnerbaits or chatterbaits i would go to the med hvy - hvy...
