Re: Best NRX, Megabass or Evergreen Rod for Top Waters

I'm not a big fan of my NRX. Just too fast of action and the reel seat is......I'll leave it at that.

Re: Top summer time tactics

Good read. I fish a local lake and I still haven't really figured summer time fish yet. I don't wake up early enough i'm guessing.

Re: Surf Combo

Nowadays there are plenty of good surf rods around the $100 mark. One light enough should be no problem casting all day. Having a good reel is more important for me. Sand and saltwater is a killer.

Re: Sunglasses

I have both Oakley's and Costa. I won't touch my Oakley's again. They are reserved for my car when I forget to bring my Costas.

I have both 580G's in blue and brown. I'm want a silver lens next.

A lot of the MB baits I've seen online from Japan already though. Can't wait for the show to start.

Really? That'll be one crazy looking lure a fish wouldn't have seen before. Probably why they hit it.

I'll go grab a pack of Impacts. Might also order some GY double tail grubs.

Re: Surf Combo

How much are you looking to spend is the real question?

I use a Loomis IMX 11' surf with a Stella 6000swb.

Good trailer for swim jig?

I don't swim any jig but want to get into it. I've thrown a handful of times through weeds and it's awesome.

What's a good trailer (non swimbait) to make it look like shad type bait?

Re: Rain Gear for Warm Months

Columbia Titanium gear. I live in Oregon and we get rain ALL THE TIME. I usually have a thin set just for summer. My jacket I've had for 6-7 years and I've even worn in heavy rain. No issues so far. The jacket was definitely worth the $100.

Re: Reels made in Japan vs made in China, does it matter?

I'll pay more for Japan over China any day, any product. I am an inspector at work (steel) and we do have a plant in China. The quality of work I inspect annually is flat out ridiculous. One example, our head inspector travels there because China has been sending out poor quality parts. He says they...
