Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

What type/size of line do you use? You had better be careful because one of those things might tow you out to sea. I have caught yellowtail from a float tube here in CA and I was scared as heck of this happening! Some of the guys in float tubes are dumb enough to keep fish on stringer. One ...

LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT TAIL.. I KNOW IT WAS PULLING LIKE A TRACTOR
That first one was a problem  She dropped the hammer and took off running straight out, and almost spooled me even though I was thumbing down hard on the spool. Only one I had to pull the pole and chase down.

Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)

2nd was a 1/4 ounce Jackall Break Blade. Again, GREAT bait. Super sharp Owner hook, and it contributed to my 3 largest fish of the year. BUT, at this place? The fish opened up the nose time and time again. I'd reel in a blade and nothing else. It happened 3 times during that period in March when fi...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Some chatterbait fun on the river. Caught 15 or so of these over slots on this trip ripping through shallow grass and getting some heavy thumps. 843 Conquest and Stile SS had a good workout https://i.postimg.cc/g2bS98qW/4-EBA2023-5-C69-410-B-B94-E-510967829952.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/x1Gs98tb/96-B6...

Been a minute since I posted anything to this thread, so here’s a few recent baits https://i.postimg.cc/y8rScw3p/D332-A10-D-02-D7-43-C9-BCAD-A0-B4-D5-CFA25-D.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/j2KWRTB2/46-A33746-4438-4-F7-C-B1-FE-558-C7-A80692-F.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/KYk3NJnG/0-EF483-DD-B8-B1-48-B9-A234-C2...

Re: Floating DD Jerkbaits

There are some really good +1 blanks out there that are weighted differently(steel vs. tungsten) so they float faster than the original. Great action, they turn and dart like the real thing, cast great and haven’t had any issues catching fish. Still would need to get them painted, but should be less...

Re: Fun Evenings Throwing Topwater

Few more trout from a couple recent trips. Pre/post spawners pushed shallow with the cooling water temps around the last full moon. These fish were eating my custom 110sr in Bone. https://i.postimg.cc/mDY45SCr/FB7-DC9-AF-AE56-4-F26-8-DF6-B3-EEB3-E0-B8-D8.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/d1Pv6f7X/A23-A6-ECE-...

Re: Fun Evenings Throwing Topwater

Holy crap! Those trout are true gators! Where did you catch them? If I remember correctly, it was over 22lbs on those 3 trout the second night. Didn’t measure any of them but got the weights with my Boga. I’m in Pensacola, FL. Crystal clear water and tough fishing, but we definitely have some big t...

Re: Fun Evenings Throwing Topwater

Great fish! I fished a carp hatchery when I was about 14 in 1984 that also had bass in it. I went 31 straight with a Devil's Horse one evening before I caught all of the bass in that tiny lake. They were all stunted and only about 13 inches each. I have gone 31 for 32 casts with a Michael (Japanese...

Holy SCHITE Jeff, sorry I'm a bit late to this party.

You just done crushed it Mango!
Thanks brother. Have had some good days since then, but for some reason they were on the feed big time that evening and not letting it get away. Topwater definitely made the whole thing more memorable!

Re: NRX users…what’s your top three (or four) rods in the lineup?

843C, 893C, 852S, and 872S What do you like to use your 843c for? Trying to justify a NRX level for a mbr. Thanks I think the better question would be “what don’t you use your 843MBR for” Extremely versatile, from single hooks to trebles. Just about everything that’s in the lure weight range ...

Re: NRX users…what’s your top three (or four) rods in the lineup?

I’m a huge MBR fan, owned 842 in IMX, GLX, NRX and Conquest. NRX 842c is definitely one of my favorites, and the taper is really unique. Main use is jerkbaits and topwater, but also works well with light spinnerbaits/chatterbaits, jigs, and crankbaits. 843c comes second as I don’t use it as much as ...

Re: Adding some color to a Slider Swimmer 175

Good deal, glad you figured out an easy way to accomplish the goal. Sorry for writing a book, just hate to see someone go to all that work and it start peeling off right away. A lot more work in simple lure painting than most people think.

Re: Adding some color to a Slider Swimmer 175

If I wanted to redo it and not spend much, I’d buy some Pearl Mica powder and mix that into some epoxy and apply over a white basecoat. Simple, and will give it a very nice Pearl/iridescent shine. Hardest part will be the clear coat though, tough to keep the joints from swinging and touching on a t...
