Re: MB 30th LWL Evoluzion Mephisto & Daiwa Z2020 Black LTD

Beautiful setup. How do you like that finish on the Z2020 Black LTD? Those Z2020's are a beast. :)

Beautiful Rig. The Steez SV6.3 is a sweet reel.

Re: steez comparison help

741 swimbait has a longer handle (about 1.25inch longer), stronger backbone. It is different blank and action as 741 frog. swimbait can handle heavier lures than frog. If frog up limit is 2oz, i would give 2.5 oz to swimbait rod. I think swimbait rod overall is a stiffer rod and stiffer tip than fr...

Re: STEEZ XBD FROG ROD : Your feedback?

I've got two XBD frog rods.. One purchased shortly after release, the second bought this summer. The handle lengths are identical on both rods.. The only similar Steez with a longer handle is the swimbait rod. I have been trying to figure out if these are two different rods due to the similar specs...

Re: building the 5.1:1 'crankin'steez'

Thanks for posting this. I have wondered about dropping the gear ratio down in a steez and using it for cranking. I am not sure if I would rather go with a 5.7 or 5.1. The water is not that deep where I fish and I would also like to use this with square bills so the 5.7:1 may work better for me. Ian...

Re: fast gear megabass reel?

I can totally relate to the posts in here. I happen to get lucky with a good example of the Smoke. Mine happens to be very smooth, bombs baits, has not failed me yet and the brakes work well but are a littel crude. Once you use something like the simple but more refined Magforce Z or one of the mode...

Re: Can someone please give me info on the Steez 6.3SV?

Great! Thanks for sharing that that with me. Its either this reel or an Alphas SV105. I always wanted a Steez and this one is only $30 more so I think thats a great deal. No problem, I am glad to help out anytime. I also forgot to mention that this reel palms amazing! The Steez form factor is the m...

Re: Can someone please give me info on the Steez 6.3SV?

In my humble opinion, the Steez SV6.3 is one of the best values when it comes to the steez. -This model utilizes the steez frame with the smaller gearbox, so it can not be upgraded to a faster gear set. ( This is based on the SV6.3R. The SV6.3L may have a different gear box.) -It comes with a Steez ...

Re: 2016 G1 SV spools

Why do you guys think Daiwa doesn't make those G1 spools with 5x11x4 bearing like on SLP 1012 spool, and putting 3x10x4 bearing into that collar instead? What is the achievement? I only can see saving some money of the price 5x11x4 vs 3x10x4 and a collar.
I was wondering the same thing myself.

Re: Enthusiast Combo Etiquette

$200 black and red Daiwa reel than can do BFS and power on a $200 powerful black and red Shimano BFS stick. I would have gone with a Scorpion 70 if I could stick an SV spool into one. Air Brake ain't no joke. https://s12.postimg.org/947s29e25/Alphas_SV.png If this is wrong I don't want to be right ...

HaHa. I am a true righty but i bought these lefties for a steal so i pretty much learned it and can use both side equally.
Very cool that you were able to adapt well to the lefties. Absolutely beautiful setups. Nice to see you enjoying them.

I'm sure he is using left and right handed reels to prevent any sort of carpal tunnel or other conditions that come from overuse. I use right and left as well.
Interesting concept, that is the first I have heard of this approach.
