Re: NRX MBR 842
Just posted on your other thread but Ill move it here. This rod is impressive. Ive been fishing this rod for over a year now pretty much inshore only and have landed some huge fish on it. Just did a post in show and tell of a fish caught on this rod. I use it for anything 1/2oz and under(1/2oz skitt...

Fantastic catch. That was a feat for sure. You are inspiring me to improve my fish fighting skills. I have always had a tendency to put too much pressure on. Size six hooks and a 30# redfish is awesome. Thanks a lot and I am glad it had an impression on you. Just have to take it slow and easy. I en...

Re: Flouro to braid
Been using 30lb 832 with 18lb Shooter or 16lb Toray and its perfect. Small knot with a 9 turn Albright, line is pretty thin while still not digging in and is plenty tough for fighting big fish in heavy grass/wood. 50lb would work but really no reason to go so heavy if using a lighter leader. Your kn...

Re: Chronarch CI4+ ARB
Good job Jeff. Bravery paid off ! =D> I am not sure that you would have any benefit from replacing the bushing with a bearing, to be honest. It's more of a spacer than an actual bushing. Also, I know that you said you use the reel in SW,but I prefer to just apply a small coating of oil to a Q-tip, ...

Shallow- Lucky Craft Flash Minnow 95 and Rapala Xrap 08. I use these two lures exclusively inshore and love the Flash Minnow over shallow hydrilla in the spring for bass. Medium- Pointer 78, Silent Pointer 95 and Squad Minnow 95. Catch most of my fish on Silent Pointer even in the stained waters aro...

Re: Metanium vs Ci4 vs Curado I
I have all three of these reels. I hear some people say the I is equal to the ci4, I strongly disagree! The Ci4+ is a great reel, palms better, is lighter and it's beautiful ! Rarely , do I pick up the "I"... If I do, it's because I need something with a bit more line capacity or I'm going to a pla...

Re: 6' 6"/6' 8" versus 7'0"
You will be fine with the length. My buddy used to use nothing but 6'6 rods for a long time. I got him to try a 7' and he now wonders what took him so long. Seems most 7' and up rods have more tip than the shorter rods and tend not to be as stiff. No doubt in my mind you are gonna love that 843, its...

Re: Another "Giant" test for the NRX842/Chronarch Ci4
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Jeff! That is an awesome catch! Your 842 and Chronarch combo have handled some monsters. That is a BULL for sure and just goes to show that bruiser fish can be caught on light gear in the right hands. Congrats! =D> Thanks JD! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and hav...

Re: Another "Giant" test for the NRX842/Chronarch Ci4
Great catch! Nice to know these little 150 size reels can handle that much of a fish. Thanks, could've probably used a little more line but the 150 size is perfect for most inshore species. Nice red! I know that's not one to keep......but suddenly, the thought of redfish court-bouillon makes my mou...

Re: What are your mid to post spawn combos?
Haha I know, figured out it was from last year after I posted. My bad. Thought you may have been getting the gear together early this year Seriously though, our pre-spawn starts in January and spawning usually starts in February so it won't be long....
