NRX 893 vs. Mission Type F
For those of you who have used both: I am looking for a rod to toss weightless Senkos and quarter-ounce jigs with trailers. Would you buy the Mission Type F at $240 (20 percent off sale) or the NRX 893 at $385 (rep sample)? Is the NRX a clear winner in the comparison, justifying the added cost? I'm ...

Re: JDM order
My order for a Morrum 1600 finally went through. Paypal turned the trick.

Re: Dobyns Lengths Question
Dobyns should hand out a few more of those certificates. I'd use one in a heartbeat.

Re: JDM order
They need to fix that. When you complete an order and get a choice of how to pay, they give you four credit cards to click, and an "other" option. When you click the "other" option, you get PayPal, but the primary choices are credit cards.

Re: JDM order
I've been trying for two weeks to get a reel through Rakuten. The fishing store has rejected two of my credit cards--I have no idea why. I use them online all the time.
I tried again this morning with PayPal. We'll see.

Re: Whats your favourite Baitcaster (within last 4 years)
In find it interesting that, in four pages of responses, the Shimano flagship Calais 200 DC hasn't been mentioned even once. I bought my first Steez last winter, a 103 SHA, and enjoy it so much that I'm getting the 7.9:1 version this fall. I also like my Conquest 50 so much that I just ordered a 50 ...

Re: Revo Toro HS Brick
No, you're right--I read the line capacity wrong.
I still have the double-paddle handle on the Toro. I'm sure it's relatively light, for a muskie reel. It just feels heavy, after fishing with a Steez, Premier, etc. for several years. Have to get used to that again.

Re: Revo Toro HS Brick
I was just looking at the Exsence DC online. It has a fairly high line capacity, heavier drag, etc., and weighs about 8.5 ounces. It seems to be getting lots of love in comments here. I wonder if it would be a viable alternative to the Calais DC for freshwater applications? Big spinnerbaits for musk...

Revo Toro HS Brick
A Revo Toro 50 HS arrived in the mail last night. I ordered it to use as a muskie reel, and the price was too good to pass up. Took it out of its box, and...man, that sucker feels heavy! According to the box, it weighs 10.3 ounces, but the heaviest reel I've used in the last few years has been a Cal...

Re: Buying Tackle Online...Yes or No??
I like the economy of online shopping, the savings I can get by shopping smart. It lets me buy better tackle, and more of it. I also like the ability to "travel" in a heartbeat. I can look at slab spoons at a Texas website, hop over to Japan to look at JDM reels, drop into the St. Croix bargain room...

Re: Beginner Muskie Fishing Set Up
American Legacy has Abu Revo Toro's for less than half price right now. A lot of people on the muskie forums say they use the Toro. I just bought a 50, to pair with a muskie rod that I'll get on sale later.

Re: Anyone use the Morrum ZX 1600, yet?
I just broke down and ordered one from Rakuten. Significantly less than at JT. Don't need it, but they look cool. I grew up fishing with an Ambassadeur 5000, so I have a soft spot in my heart for round reels.

The monkey's screeching and jumping up and down. It wants this reel and half a dozen others. Stupid monkey.

Anyone use the Morrum ZX 1600, yet?
Has anyone had a chance to fish with the Morrum ZX 1600 MAG? I see that Japan Tackle has sold several of them. Really looking forward to reading a report.
