Re: Finding a cracked guide ring
You could try applying some grease or acrylic paint or something to the guides to see if you can spot an area that didn't wipe off easily.

Re: OG's vs copies
Berkley Nessie - Gan Craft Jointed Claw Shape-S The Nessie is a knockoff of the Grow Design Works Flag. Yes, that's the one! Similar to the Gan Craft too though--I dunno, if you look across JDM baits they all have very similar offerings too. I found that watching The Hook Up Tackle YouTube channel ...

Re: OG's vs copies
Pure Fishing is the one that everyone is calling Impure Fishing these days. Berkley Gilly is a copy of the Issei Gill Flat Berkley Nessie - Gan Craft Jointed Claw Shape-S Rapala Crush City Bronco Bug - OSP Dolive Beaver I have mixed feelings. A lot of JDM baits are just not available to the scale th...

Re: Shimano Stella FK Spool
Might want to take a look at the schematic on both reels to see if they share part numbers--chances are the 2500 and 3000 have the same body like most other Shimano spinning reels. https://fishshop.shimano.com/collections/stl2500hgfk https://fishshop.shimano.com/collections/stlc3000xgfk Looks like t...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty
I'm surprised at how many lefty reel users there are! I thought it would have been more 75/25 with the right hand reels dominating. I cannot for the life of me reel a baitcaster with my left hand. I don't know what it is--I've tried and it's just so difficult, but I reel a spinning reel with my left...

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
You may want to hold out on the FM...I've seen quite a few posts on Instagram from people in Japan that have a broken tooth on one of the aluminum gears (sorry, I don't really know what the parts are called on spinning reels). I thought it was funny that yo could buy an FM cheaper than the FL these ...

Re: Chronarch 100D7 Noise
It sounds like gears to me as best as I can hear in your video. Typically the pinion bearing will make a different noise if it is bad. When you have the reel apart you can simply rotate that bearing in your finger and feel if it is rough. Noises can be difficult to diagnose even over a video. Much ...

Re: Swimbait glide bait rod
Are you throwing swimbaits with a jig style top hook? or are you throwing big treble hook swimbaits? I recently purchased a Leviathan Omega Heavy Swimbait rod and I'm impressed by the craftsmanship and the action. I bought mine for throwing 3-4 oz glides. Leviathan also makes an XXH that goes 6-16 o...

Re: Chronarch 100D7 Noise
Do the video again but put your thumb on the spool with light pressure while winding and go from slow to fast and back to slow again if it makes sense. My D7 also has a weird raspy feeling and noise that I can either put down to the friction access control keyway lock on the left hand side of the s...

Re: Chronarch 100D7 Noise
Could be gears but again, very hard to tell. I can barely hear much sound in the video. The sound I do hear though sounds pretty rough retrieve wise. Was thinking it could be the pinion slots could be worn but adding grease to the spool pin is what stops that temporarily. The rattling really is rem...

Re: Chronarch 100D7 Noise
It’s really hard to hear much in the video but it sounds alot play in the pinion and spool shaft pin. Put a little grease on the spool pin tips and see if that helps the noise. I had a very similar issue on a daiwa 50th. The pinion was not being fully seated through the bearing cause the spool pin ...

Re: Looking for a slightly more powerful and versatile rod than the NRX+893c
But that’s not in true TT fashion—you may want to take a look at the Conquest 844 because I think the 843 is more moderate and similar in power to your 893. Haha, you got me there! :D :D :D Don't worry have been eyeing a new heavy swimbait combo for a while.. ;-) In case I will be able to sell my n...

Chronarch 100D7 Noise
I've torn this reel apart multiple times...replaced all the bearings inside except the anti-reverse bearing. I've removed the anti-reverse ratchet...I've used some thicker grease, thinner grease, oil, you name it. But I can't get rid of this noise and I'm beginning to think it's just worn main gear ...

I think it's possible that we see it this fall, but more likely we'll see it spring of next year.
