Man Caves and Tackle Rooms

Now that cold weather is setting in I'm finally going to convert part of my basement into a tackle room/man cave. Still trying to figure out what I want in terms of aesthetics and organization. I was hoping you tackle junkies could post some picks of your tackle rooms for ideas and inspiration. Let'...

Re: NRX 852c

I've got 3 of them with px-r reels and 8-12# line. One is rigged with a Ned, one with a drop shot and one with either a shaky head or split shot rig. It's possibly the most enjoyable nrx I have. I think they cast light lures 90% of people would usually use an eggbeater for just fine. Curious, do yo...

Re: What is your preferred reel cover

Has anyone used Trey Harpel's and do you like them? They look like they'd be really easy on/off. http://threeltuningandcleaning.com/Threeltuningandcleaning_LLC/BAITCASTING_REEL_COVERS.html I use Trey's reel covers. I wasn't a fan at first because they seemed a bit snug and difficult to put on. Howe...

Re: Best NRX for weightless wackyworm

My NRX 893c is a great senko rod, if a baitcaster interest you. Originally I wanted to throw it on a baitcaster but I have a hell of a time getting the lure out more than 10 yards. I've tried it on my steez, alphas, mgx, t3, t3mx, fx68, and px68. I finally accepted the fact if I want hassle free fi...

Best NRX for weightless wackyworm

Hey all,

Looking to purchase my next NRX for throwing weightless senkos (wacky worm and t-rig). I am thinking it should be a spinning rod so that I can cast out further and not deal with backlash. It will be paired with either a 3000 Stradic CI4+ or Sustain. Thanks in advance!

Re: Power rod wrapper

I have the Alps wrapper with the upgraded chuck. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy another one just like it. It's a nice piece of gear, for a reasonable price. A word, or two, to the wise. This wrapper comes with three rod stands. You're going to need more than that. I ordered two extra...

Re: Power rod wrapper

The Renzetti is one of the best that are out there. I don't think there is any doubt in that statement! The cost though is very expensive. It just depends on how into rod building your going to get. We use these all day: ALPS Power wrapper with upgraded chuck! For the price you really can't go wron...

Re: PX Type R

I think I'm going to wait before I start swapping to a more refined spool. I'm still learning to pitch/flip and get some pretty bad overrun both when I pitch it out, before it hits the water. When it hits water it basically pendulums back to me because if I let the spool take line it ends up with an...

Re: PX Type R

I completely agree. I was actually holding my streez and pxr together to get an idea of the pxr's quality. It just feels very solid and refined. Can't wait to compare fishability.

Re: PX Type R

Thanks for the input. The reel is amazing and I'm impressed with the tight tolerances. There is no wiggling of parts anywhere. Especially the handle. I guess I can deal with a non-clicking cc knob. If it allows me to dial in my cast better then I'm all for it.

PX Type R

Just bought my PX Type R and I'm very impressed. I am a little disappointed that it doesn't have a clicking spool tension knob. Anyone know why? And is there an after market mod available to make it a clicker. I guess it's not a big deal but its definitely something I wish it had.
