Re: GeeCrack

The Bellows Craw has been working really well for me in the cold fished on a shakey head. Looks like another winner from GeeCrack.

Anyone fishing the Spiron?

Re: Jackall FIVOSS

I like the looks of that fivoss. I too feel the same way about JDM plastics. The bluegill style soft plastics seem to be a trend that hasn't hit the states quite yet and I've really been wanting to try them. The fivoss is like a bluegill style soft plastic if it had a baby with a beaver bait. Looks...

Re: Short Frog Rod (for the kayak)

MB P5 Super Destroyer.

Loved it with horny toads, Deps Slither K, etc. this past spring and summer.

Length works well when I am in the kayak at 6'9"

Re: JDM Jig rods

Yes I do have some suggestions. 2) Shimano poison Ultima 172H. Don’t let the “H” throw you off. This rod fishes like a MH or MH+ And does amazingly well with 3/8oz jigs and T-rigs. 3) Evergreen Kaleido Black Raven Extreme RS. This is a shorter rod at 6-6” but has epic level sensitivity. If you’re l...

Re: MB Zcrank Elseil or something else?

I'm primarily looking for a rod that will handle small wake / shallow cranks, maybe up to a 5-7' deep, medium size crankbait. In my previous days (before swimbaits) And I'm staying under $500 for this if possible. I have not fished the Zcrank rod. I have fished previous MB Elseil iterations and in ...

Re: One Texas rig/small rig jod

If I could only have one rod for everything from senkos, 1/4 texas rigs, to small rigs, what is the best option? -Most people will say NRX 893 but will it load the senko well? It seems like the 852 is the go to senko rod. Are there other suggestions? I also also curious about the Zodias 72M(differe...

Re: Why is DRT so damn expensive?

They're like the Rolex of fishing or what. They’re more like a limited edition sneaker designed by some rapper where they only made 10 of them and were sold exclusively through a pop-up store in a random NYC subway station which was only announced via an obscure Instagram account. Hypebeasts gonna ...

Here's a example of the Black Raven Extreme incredible rod, perfect balance, downright criminal sensitivity.
When you describe the sensitivity that way, we all need one !
Sensitivity on par or better than an NRX, every other rod characteristic, head and shoulders better.

Re: Evergreen Top 5 Jig rods ?

Black Raven Extreme RS . My time is limited with this rod as I have not had it long. Incredibly sensitive and the rod is "smooth." Crisp, fast taper. And yes, the sensitivity is on par or maybe better than an NRX. Black Racer. Extra fast rod, really sensitive. Better choice for finesse jigs up to 3...

Re: Your Path to the Dark Side ...

Same reel for me. Loved the "JDM Curado." Light (comparatively), threw lures a mile and the burgundy color looked sharp. Really wish that I kept one. Rod: MB X4 Elseil. My first MB rod. The Gloomis GLX 843 MBR was the gateway for me--couldn't believe how much better of a rod it was to what I was fis...

Re: Megabass P5 Dark Sleeper

This rod really has my attention for moving single hook baits. How well would this rod be tossing 3/8oz underspins, 3/8oz jackhammers and 1/2oz spinnerbaits? I’m stuck between this rod, the madbull and the valkyire VKC-71MH. What’s your guys thoughts and recommendations? Thanks I've used the Dark S...

Re: High end rod recommendations

I'm in the market for a new high end mh-h rod that will be used for general purpose techniques, so versatility is key for me. I was looking at the Poison Ultima, a few mega bass rods, and the new NRX+. Right now I'm still researching, but any tips and recommendations would be helpful. Thanks! I hav...

Re: JDM Drop Shot Reel Shallow Spool

I use a Shimano Vanquish 2500SHG for lighter line (6#) drop shotting (ned rigs, small senkos, and wacky rigs). There are other models within the Vanquish line that offer more shallow (or larger) spools. Reel has performed great and isn't that far off from the Stella models (and is priced considerabl...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

So how is everyone liking the Super Destroyer that has had it for a while now? I like it a lot. I've been using it primarily for topwater lures (buzzjets, horny toad) and some of the smaller swimbaits (Gancraft 128, etc.) over the last several weeks. Rod has plenty of power and is responsive. I bou...
